According to Rushisaband.com, the latest print edition of Entertainment Weekly (June 3/10 double issue) lists an appearance by RUSH drum legend Neil Peart on the Late Show With David Letterman as part of Drum Solo Week on Thursday, June 9th.

Not sure who else is slated to appear during 'drum solo' week... Maybe Ian Paice? That would be a get!

Dave better not have any other guests scheduled that night. A good NeilPeart drum solo will take up his entire show.

I've never been a fan of drum solos. I like some show off flash inside of songs but stand alone, especially drums and bass, it's pretty dumb.

At least he'd be good.

I don't see Vinny Appice's invite anywhere.

It's time to break out the wristbands and make like John Bonham as 'Late Show With David Letterman' hosts its first-ever 'Drum Solo Week' next week. (Hopefully it won't involve any bizarre gardening accidents ... )

CBS announced Wednesday that the show will dedicate four nights to peformances by some of the music industry's top drummers and percussionists.

The lineup features an eclectic mix of musicians, including Neil Peart from Rush, who is regarded as one of the greatest drum soloists in rock music.

The week kicks off Mon., June 6 with a drum solo performance by Anton Fig, longtime drummer for 'Late Show' band leader Paul Shaffer and the CBS Orchestra.

Drummer and percussionist Sheila E., best-known for her collaborations with Prince, will take to the stage on Tuesday.

Legendary drummer Roy Haynes will take to the stage of the Ed Sullivan Theater on Wednesday. In a career spanning more than sixty years he's drummed with such jazz greats as Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, John Coltrane and Sarah Vaughn.

'Drum Solo Week' will be closed out Thursday by a performance from Canadian rocker Neil Peart.

'The Late Show With David Letterman' airs weeknights, 12:37AM ET on CBS.
