I could get more intelligence out of a fucking tree stump than I could from Sarah Palin.

I wish she would just shut the fuck up and stop making an ass out of herself in public. Wait....I take that back....it is perfectly OK to make an ass out of herself in public, as the public will clearly see how fucking idiotic she is, and will not vote for her. MOST people with any degree of intelligence will not vote for her, though yes, there are people out there who are more stupid than she is.

I think Obama was a good hard lesson to not vote for someone just because they become a celebrity and get lot's of media hype. Sarah was the republican party's ill fated attempt to try and compete with Barrack in the media circus department. Basically the people who buy politicians have no interest in being out in the limelight so they find these attention addicted egomaniacs to run. Sarah would be just another Obama in fact she might be worse according to someone who worked on her staff when she governed Alaska.

I love how all these patriotic, constitutional loving Americans don't know the basic history of the country nor do they know the US Constitution or Bill of Rights. Michelle Bachman thought the battle of Lexington and Concorde took place in New Hampshire. Sarah Palin probably doesn't even know what the battle of Lexington and Concorde is.

I love how all these patriotic, constitutional loving Americans don't know the basic history of the country nor do they know the US Constitution or Bill of Rights. It's one thing to flub up being the average person but when you are followed by the press and are in the public eye all the time, some research might be a good thing to do.

I actually made it a point to take both modern and US history just to make sure I had a better understanding of the country in general, so I actually had some clue as to what I was talking about with others.

Great decision actually, my professors were great folks, one used to serve in the army, and the other is your average run of the mill democrat, but I walked away with a balanced view of the country, and what really were the values that it was built upon.

It also helped to show me that a lot of people like Beck and Palin are full of shit waving around the constitution, and talking about the founders, and that, a great portion of the founders themselves would not be to keen on things like the "Patriot Act".

Nitro Express
06-04-2011, 02:08 AM
I did the same thing. Plus, US history and government was covered quite well in our middle school and high school. Most of our teachers were patriotic some were veterans and others were people who immigrated to the US and got citizenship. I remember my history teacher telling us his biggest fear was the American public would take their freedoms for granted and squander them. Well, that's exactly what has happened.

I think the powers that be are overconfident thinking the 2012 election will be business as usual. A lot of indicators are showing conservatives and liberals alike are not happy with the Republican or Democrat parties and we all know they are bought and paid for. Obama ran on change well we don't really want to change the constitutional foundation of the country but we want to change the too big to fail and by the corporation for the corporation.

They have spent all the celebrity equity with Barrack Obama. In 2012 he will be nothing special. The same with Sarah Palin. She's over exposed and over saturated. We might see some suprising things happen with Ron Paul or an independent candidate. I think more Democrats will vote that way as will Republicans. We are tired of both BS parties and their lame bought off celebrity candidates.

Half my family are republicans and half are democrats. In reality, they are the same more than they differ. The democrats work in education are pro union and view their party as the one that sticks up for the working class. The republicans all run their own businesses and are the rugged independent types. The one constant I see is both sides complain about government incompetence and corruption. They also complain about how the too big to fails are taking over.

The democrat teacher that got screwed out of their collective bargaining rights is getting screwed by the same people who will run the republican business owner out of business. He will be saddled will all sorts of additional costs while his corporate competitors get an exemption. It's all favoritism to the corporations and conservatives and liberals both get screwed.

Last week, Sarah Palin told a local news station in Boston that Paul Revere "warned the British that they weren't gonna be takin' away our arms." As the news media rushed to point out that Revere was, in fact, warning the American colonists, not the British, Palin's supporters apparently attempted to update the Wikipedia entry on Revere in order to make the facts conform to Palin's version of history.

According to the revision history on the Wikipedia page, Palin supports attempted to add the line in italics below:

Revere did not shout the phrase later attributed to him ("The British are coming!"), largely because the mission depended on secrecy and the countryside was filled with British army patrols; also, most colonial residents at the time considered themselves British as they were all legally British subjects.

That revision was deleted with the explanation "content not backed by a reliable sources [sic] (it was sarah palin interview videos)."

On Sunday, Palin, a paid Fox News contributor, told "Fox News Sunday" that she was correct. She says there were British soldiers in the area for years before Revere's legendary ride, and that he was warning them, as well as his fellow colonists.

"Part of his ride was to warn the British that were already there that 'hey, you're not going to take American arms, you are not going to beat our own well-armed persons individual private militia that we have.'"

She blamed her previous answer on the media, saying it was a "gotcha question."

The Paul Revere House's website says that on April 18, 1775, Dr. Joseph Warren instructed Revere to ride to Lexington, Mass., to warn Samuel Adams and John Hancock that British troops were marching to arrest them.

Kind of a humorous juxtaposition between the NYTimes critique of her bus ride last week, where the case was made that despite not accomodating the media, Palin managed to suck the air out of Mittens carefully choreographed announcement.

She seems to do just fine unless she's called upon to give off-the-cuff remarks. Honestly, this is just a sloppy instance and lack of being prepared. All it would have took was an aide doing a quick web search while the entourage was heading to the site, and the basic facts of Revere's ride could have been grasped.

Any politician can have a snafu here and there when speaking in public. However, for Palin it's the norm, and she's made it clear that she actually takes pride in her ignorance.

I'd have threw her a bang back in her teens/twenties, but her chicken neck and crazy eyes aren't much of a turn-on these days.

There is quite a lot of evidence that Bin Laden was involved. Atta met with him and trained at his camps in Afghanistan in 2000. Someone gave Atta a pile of cash to fund the operation at that time and of course Bin Laden did claim that he was responsible from 2004 onwards.

I think there was enough there for a prosecution just from the stuff in the public domain never mind all the intel data.
