There is an interactive map showing the paths of these two comets. You can move the dates forward or backwards, tilt the map of the solar system.

There are a buncha people starting the usual doomsday predictions, etc.

Least of which is NASA, which has issued a "Family Preparedness Memo" to all it's employees.

Whatever.

Here are some more links with factual and not so factual stuff about this:

Regardless of whether we are fucked, as an amateur astronomer, it oughta be an amazing sight!

I for one will be taking a lot of images of the sky over that period. For one thing, Comet Honda is going to be closest Aug. 18-19 they say, but it still is going to be visible for many weeks before and after. And, the Perseids meteor shower (one of the top meteor showers each year) will peak the week before.

So it is going to be interesting for all the skywatchers in the world.

That link shows that NASA has had that preparedness program for a year & it's for any eventuality, not just the fuckin' meteor.

Of course, retards will see patterns everywhere, media will try to link shit up to scare everyone so they have ratings & I wish a fuckin' meteorwould hit this fuckin' rock to put all those fuckin' retards out of their misery.

The downside to that would be that I would obviously be obliterated as well, but hey... you can't 'ave ev'rythin' can ya?

Of course, it's quite likely it's gonna fall in the U. S., it always did in the films.

And by the way, the end of the world as we know it is exactly right. Haven't you noticed how much the world changed these past ten years & how it's continuing to change? Nuthin' to do with meteor, though. Yet.

Cheers! :bottle:
