Why do people and corporations, etc... not listen to the golden rule of : "If it's not broke don't fix it?"

Wendy's had the best french fries around (at least of the fast food joints) and now they've incorporated "sea salt" on/in their fries and I don't like it. I don't like it at all!

Fuck!

It's a tie between Clown Food fries and Wendy's Hot and Juicy fries for me, but the sea salt tips the scale in McVomits favor.

Lose the sea salt and blow me, Wendy!

Burger King ate Wendy's hot and juicey and Ronald McDonald watched and cried.

It's cheaper for Wendy's if they don't have to peel the potatoes.

Many years ago...maybe 12-15?...Jack In The Box suddenly changed their fries. The old ones were greasy and not the greatest, but still kinda good. I hate the new ones. The seasoned curly fries are good though. But I go to Jacks hardly at all since they changed their fries.

I remember when I was a kid how good McDonald's fries were...they were like crack cocaine they were so addictively good, then somewhere along the line they changed them somehow and they haven't been worth a shit since. Come to find out, it was the oil they fry them in that they changed. They used to use beef tallow and now they use vegetable oil. Dairy Queen fries used to be damn good, too, and now they're inedible...not sure what the fuck they did to their fries. Burger King fries are awful as well. Come to think of it, I can't really think of a fast food chain that has good fries, anymore.

And the reason they've changed the oil is simply (no not cheaper only), now they get money for the used oil, (in Holland about €15,= p/200 ltr)

And you know what they do with this used 'oil'?????

To feed 'our' farm animals !!!! :shagsheep: "some kind of recycling":baaa:

Stupid consumers get what they deserve. I'm amazed at how much corner cutting and quality busting goes on but yet the places are still busy full of customers. It isn't the provider's fault it's the consumer's fault for buying the shit.

I honestly can't remember the last time I had fast food. After the teenage years, Burker King et al really lost their appeal for me - the food always tastes flat.

Absolutely. However, for those who'd like to recreate the "fast food fries" experience at home, try the following. (I've pointed this out in the past to folks, and it has never ceased to amaze them.) Simply buy a bag of the cheapest frozen fries you can find at the supermarket. Shortly before you drop them in the deep fryer, pan full of oil or place them on a sheet to bake them, roll them in sugar until they are well coated. After cooking them to package instructions, you'll be astounded as to how closely they taste to the...err, real thing.

My favorite burger and fries joint is in this shack on the Fort Hall Indian Reservation. Whenever I'm going down I-15 that way I stop and get a buffalo burger and some homemade fries.

No it's real bison. You can tell because it's leaner and has a different flavor than beef. The reservation has huge river bottoms where they graze buffalo herds. You can also have a beefalo burger that is 50/50 beef and bison. Those are good too. They also have huge onion rings and make their own hamburger buns.

Where they get the tourists is where the casino is off the interstate. The burger joint is farther into the reservation and the locals pretty much eat there. Shoshone indians have mastered the art of burger and fry making. The weird thing is the indians drink hot tea with their burgers. The joint is mixed in with old falling apart gas stations, gang tagging, and trailer houses with rusted cars all in the front yard. It's the type of place nobody in their right mind would stop at if they didn't know something good was in there. It's one of the universes best kept secrets. It's the type of place that would end up in a National Geographic article.

I know another good hole in the wall in Cuzco, Peru that has awsome beef heart and guinea pig but that's a whole other story.

I had one on a Scottish island last week and it had beetroot, relish and pineapple on it.

A bit odd but kind of worked.

The only place I ever had pineapple on a hamburger was in Hawaii. It was pretty good actually. They put this asian type of sweet and sour sauce on it. Not bad at all.

I loved KFC fries with that gravy all over it, and then they changed the fries. PISS ME OFF. Never been the same, even though the gravy is the same.

However in the age of no trans fats, KFC chicken is not the same. I find it very dry.

Consider yourself lucky you have never been to Red Robin. Their speciality is supposed to be burgers but to be honest, I've had better burgers at Denny's and no the burger looks like a sloppy pussy after it has been gang banged and not like the nice photo above.

No food product you see in advertising does. They literally spend hours getting that stuff ready for a picture. Or at least they used to. Now they probably just airbrush & photoshop everything. The story that always cracked me up was how the ice cream chains had to use mashed potatoes (with appropriate food coloring added) in their ads because there's no way that real ice cream would have held up for even 5 minutes under the studio lights.

There's all kinds of tricks they use in commericals to make the food look better. Most of it has been banned in a lot of countries. Not sure about the U.S., but one trick is used in soup commercials. They put marbles in the bowl so that the noodles and stuff in the soup is more visible, making it look like there's more stuff in the can than there is. The practice has been banned in Canadian advertizing.

Another with burgers is to coat the tomatoes and lettuce with vaseline and then spray water on them so they look fresh.

No, they usually look like they've been laying out in traffic for a few hours! The bread is flat, the lettuce is wilted, there is one razor thin slice of flavorless tomato (two if you're lucky), the cheese is like plastic, the meat is thin and overcooked, and the burger is lopsided... the meat and vegetables are all off to one side.

The only time the served meal ever looked like the promotional display was when I ate at a Japanese restaurant at the Royal Hawaiian plaza in Honolulu. They have these really cool plastic models of the meals they serve. I order one and damn, it looked just like the plastic model but was the real deal you could eat.

Business digest Fast food chain announces plans to open huge restaurant in Stratford for the Olympics

LAST UPDATED 9:39 AM, JULY 21, 2011 Share

The Olympian appetites of spectators at London 2012 next year will be well catered for thanks to plans by McDonald's to open its biggest branch yet in nearby Stratford.

The fast-food giant's two-storey, 3,000 square metre Central Restaurant will have a capacity of 1,500 diners. It will be one of four around the Olympic site - with one in the athletes' village itself - and McDonald's hopes to sell 1.75m meals during the 29 days of the Olympics and Paralympics.

The fast-food chain's UK chief executive Jill McDonald said: "To be involved in the greatest sporting event on earth is hugely exciting... We want everyone who visits our Olympics park restaurants to have the best possible customer experience, and are confident that the look and feel of these cutting-edge designs will provide that environment."

McDonald’s is a long-standing sponsor of the Olympic Games. Nevertheless, the bęte-noire of healthy eating is bound to provoke protests from campaigners.

I'd say my favorite are IN-N-OUT fries. But I didn't think the Wendy's fries were so bad when I had some last month.

Out here on the West Coast they have Wienerschnitzel, hot dogs and other crap. But I swear to you all, they had to cook up a batch of fries, and they were hot, greasy, salty, and crisp. Very close to old school McDonald's fries of old. It was in a Mexican neighborhood so maybe one of the fry cooks put some lard or super glue in the fryer to crisp up the fries...

That is all.

Hey now, what did the Mcribb ever do to you? If you're gonna get colon cancer and heart disease, you might as well do it with processed rib meat slathered in BBQ sauce!
