Just like crawfish, the only thing that's edible on them is the tail. There's alot of waste and work involved in eating them, but that said, I love both lobster and crawfish.

The claws are full of meat I'd call better than the tails.

Ashstralia - Grits are great if you eat them like mashed potatoes with butter salt and pepper. North of Kentucky they don't know what they are much less how to make them.

so is it just like mashed up corn, or creamed corn?

Lobster claws & tails - fantastic! Lobster season just kicked off down here... I need to try to worm my way in with some of my diving buddies!

It's my understanding that's it's ground up corn kernels... It's absolutely a 'Southern' food... I've never tried them myself, it just doesn't look that good.

Grits... It's course ground corn meal... similar to Malto-Meal or Italian polenta. Sometimes referred to as hominy, which is a large kernel white corn. Good with lots of butter and salt.

Mmmmm...shrimp and grits with plenty of salt, black pepper and butter. If God made anything any better, he kept it to himself.
