I remember seeing this band open for somebody ( cant remember) back in the 90s..played so loud a piece of the indoor scoreboard fell to the floor..nobody got hurt..Killer voice and damn tight band..should have been a lot bigger in the states.

Can't remember who they opened for, or just don't want to admit it?

From Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baby_Animals)

The band then toured in the opening slot for Van Hagar's "For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge Tour" across America from 28 January to 31 May, again playing to arena-size audiences. Eddie Van Halen requested their presence after his wife Valerie heard their album, and suggested them.

Of course they also apparently opened for Robert Plant in 1993, so it could have been that show, right?

Like The Nymphs, The Baby Animals didn't get the kudos they deserved.

Could it be because both bands were fronted by women and rock 'n' roll is a bit of a boys' club? I don't know, but it certainly wasn't because they lacked cool tunes...

For some reason, Aussie bands have a Hell of a time cracking the US charts. Probably the only rock bands to ever really hit big time here were Ac/Dc and INXS, and even then, it took them a while to do so. (I was listening to Ac/Dc in 1977 and INXS in 1982, but I was definitely in the minority both times)

Even among more top 40 pop acts, only the Bee Gees, Little River Band, and Olivia Newton John come to mind. And Air Supply, I guess (though I'm trying to forget they ever existed)

The Kiwis do even worse over here. Split Enz and their spin-off Crowded House are probably the only ones who made it at all, and they're hardly names that would make it onto most US lists of "top bands of all time".

I would have remembered Plant..I guess they blew Van Hagar off the stage..I do see a Feb show in my hometown on wikipedia.I apparently have blocked the Hagar years from my memory.

Funny that they never opened for Extreme, considering she's apparently Nuno's wife.

Hell, I can't either. Caffeine ain't working too well today I guess. What could be more Australian than the band who actually mentioned Vegemite in a song lyric?

Breakfast Stouts.......they seem to not do subtleties too well. Extreme and overpowering/competing flavors for my taste.

Maybe they should have added caffeine to an oatmeal stout, so you had a complete breakfast all in one bottle?
