    I very much enjoy this guy, he's around my age and kinda mirrors my opinions on MTV as a whole and such.

    He references the fact that the VMA's used to be amazing in terms of the surprise performances and appearances that occur (Van Halen '96, anyone?)

    He also made a great point that Rock is dearly missing a "Flagship" band or a band that "mattered" for a long time. Saying something like "Smashing Pumpkins-1995", "Guns N' Roses 1988" kind of thing.

    I'm kinda wondering if this is just solely due to the lack of exposure that a lot of those groups used to get? I mean you read all the time about how some random dj in Iowa or Cleveland or whatever the fuck, starts playing a record and it becomes the next big thing almost by accident.
