My Dad died this morning.

He suffered a stroke 4 years ago, and so began a long, steady decline.

Won't go into details.

Am feeling quite lost right now.

Worst year of my life.

See you all soon.

You have mention in a few threads over the last years, about your situation that has been going on with your dad.

Sometimes, I don't know what the best thing to say is, what helps and what is right.

I wish you and your family the best.

Sorry for your loss, HR. It sucks, I know. My dad's been gone 30 years, and I'd agree with Matt's sentiment. Think of him fondly - and often. Keep him alive in your memory.

Sorry to hear that Hardrock 69. My favorite uncle died last week. It hit my aunt and cousins very hard. It's never fun. His neighbor was supposed to go out with him for breakfast, felt something was wrong, entered the house and found him dead in bed and couldn't get ahold of my aunt so I was the one who had to chase her down and tell her the bad news. You just deal with it because what else can you do?

If you need some cheering up we are always here for you!

My dad suffered strokes as well and we watched him decline over several years. Death was a blessing. He really was in bad shape when he passed away. Not fun to watch or deal with.

Sorry for your loss, HR. It's never easy to say goodbye to a loved one, no matter how "expected" that outcome might be. :(

Yo HR69, that's truly bad news...and I'm so sorry to hear that.

Keep your head up, and remember all of the good times that you had together, and do everything you can to make sure that you remember those times every day...

My heart goes out to you brother, and we'll be here when you are ready to come back...

:lmao:

Thrills, that gave me a much-needed belly laugh.

I have the best net-friends anyone could ask for here at Roth Army.

Is it any wonder I have been here as long as I have?

I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

At least my head feels normal again. Severe emotional shock can sometimes produce effects not unlike a concussion.
Have probably slept 18 hours each day since Monday. Slept all night last night, got up for a couple of hours this morning. Went back to bed. Woke up about 4 this afternoon, and I finally felt clear-headed again.

Now if my employment situation can do a turn-around, perhaps 2012 might be a great year after all.

Am spending Turkey Day wif the fambly. Am helping my Mom with getting all the "business" side of things taken care of. Notifying appropriate financial and government agencies, etc.

Fortunately (I guess), Dad had almost no assets. Not like I am having to deal with some mighty business empire with armies of lawyers.

Will check in later.

You guys rule. :)

Hardrock, I feel both sad, as I discover this thread, and glad that you're feeling better.

I don't know what you are getting through by now, I guess I will someday unless I pass away
before my own dad, but I can kind of imagine... and it's overwhelming.

I'm with you and wish you to keep strong enough, for this is something to live with, unfortunately.

I've known you through your posts and threads for a few years now, and I like the person who wrote
them a damn lot - your intersts, the way you deal with things, your humor... and your daddy sure is
somewhere behind this. May he rest in peace. Keep him inside you as much as you can (this is surely
how our dads are immortal IMO).

Vivat Hardrock! You're a great dude!
