Friday, December 2, 2011 05:30 PM

By: Newsmax staff

Newsmax Media and ION Television, one of the nation’s largest broadcast networks, will collaborate to host a Republican presidential debate on Tuesday, December 27, moderated by businessman Donald J. Trump.

ION Television Debate will be held at the Hoyt Sherman Theater in Des Moines, Iowa, from 8:00 to 9:30 p.m. ET/PT – and will be the last forum of major Republican presidential candidates a week before the Jan. 3rd, 2012 Iowa caucus.

The Newsmax ION Television Debate will be televised live nationwide on ION Television to 99 million U.S. homes and online by Newsmax.com. It will be the final meeting of the Republican candidates before the Iowa Caucus on January 3, 2012. All of the major Republican presidential candidates have been invited to participate.

“The ION Television/Newsmax 2012 Presidential Debate will offer all the major Republican candidates a forum to reach likely primary voters in all key states,” says Newsmax CEO Christopher Ruddy.

“There have been numerous debates so far, but we believe that the ION Television/Newsmax 2012 Presidential Debate will provide a unique opportunity for the concerns of likely primary voters to be voiced on a national stage.”

And Brandon Burgess, Chairman and CEO of ION Media Networks, says: “All voters will keep an eye on this final debate before the first presidential primary of the 2012 election. ION’s and Newsmax’s powerful combined audience reach, coupled with the prominence of Donald Trump as moderator, makes this one the most influential meetings of the candidates to date.”

Gee.... can't imagine what insightful questions "the Donald" will ask these fools

Wow...just...wow

I say they should just go all out on this one. Fire-eaters, lion-tamers, stilt-walkers, trapeze-artists.......maybe even shoot Bachmann out of a cannon.
And since they never really include Huntsman in these things anyway, they should see if he's up for riding one of his motorcycles around in one of those globes.

Hosted by Bozo the Trump.

Huntsman Spokesman Declines 'The Donald's' Debate Invitation
Zeke Miller|December 02, 2011

Tim Miller, a spokesman for Jon Huntsman's presidential campaign, had this response when asked if his candidate would participate in the Dec. 27 Newsmax debate moderated by Donald Trump:

"Lol. We look forward to watching Mitt and Newt suck-up to The Donald with a big bowl of popcorn," he said in an email to Business Insider.

Huntsman declined to meet with Trump at his New York offices, his campaign said, though Trump said last month that it was he who declined to meet Huntsman.

Deciding to sit-out the debate may help Huntsman with his message that he is the only adult in the GOP field. Another reason is more practical — Huntsman is wagering everything on New Hampshire, and leaving the state for even a day to debate in Iowa detracts from time he can spend wooing Granite State voters.

His decision to withdraw from the CNN Nevada debate to protest the state's early primary was well-received in New Hampshire, where he is just beginning to show signs of life — breaking double-digits there for the first time in a poll released earlier this week.

Can't blame him for that.
