I don't get it.:confused11:
Kristy McNichol has come out publicy to People magazine, something that's probably not news to fans who have followed her acting career and personal life since the 1970s.
The 49-year-old McNichol also allowed People to publish a photo of her with her partner of two decades, Martie Allen, because she is "approaching 50" and wants to "be open about who I am."
She "is very sad about kids being bullied," her publicist Jeff Ballard told the magazine. "She hopes that coming out can help kids who need support. She would like to help others who feel different."
For some reason, I could have sworn she came out 10 years ago. I also could have sworn that I once confessed somewhere on Stuck in the '80s that, at a young age, I used to practice kissing by smooching a cover shot of Kristy McNichol on Dynamite Magazine. So there you go.
In the meanwhile, here are five roles that we'll always enjoy because of Kristy McNichol:
ANGEL (Little Darlings, 1980): "You're supposed to get turned on, stupid, not pass out."
SUSAN BERLANGER (Just the Way You Are, 1984):
BUDDY (Family, 1976-1980)
BARBARA WESTON (Empty Nest, 1988-1995)
MABEL (The Pirate Movie, 1982): "The body's an eight, the brain's a ten, so let's go."
