I remember seeing those back in the day. Mostly I just remember him sitting there saying "We will serve no wine before it's time", but I always laughed to myself thinking he was probably three sheets to the wind. I did not know at the time he was a hardcore fucking alcoholic! :lmao:

I always though of him sitting there saying "WE WILL DRI *UUUUURP* NNK NO WINE AFORE IT'S TIME!"

He was a train wreck.......

He did have a huge impact on media, though.

His War of the Worlds radio broadcast....people panicked, thinking it was real....think a few people died because of it.

Citizen Kane, considered by many people as the best movie even made. The brass balls the dude had to go up against Hearst, one of the most powerful men in America at the time.

Reduced to a bloated raging alcoholic by the studio system........the Elvis of cinema, in a way.

If you've never seen Wells' "Touch of Evil," I highly recommend it. The last great entry in the film noir genre, and his second best film after Kane. Plus you get to see Charlton Heston as a Mexican.
