i still have my "the Family" cassette, but haven't bought the FDeluxe disc yet.

Prince wrote all the songs on the first album, Nothing Compares 2 U appeared there a few years before the Sinead O'Connor's version came out.

I remember really liking them at the time but the vinyl is long gone. Nothing Compares 2 U was originally a Prince solo song (2nd album maybe? too lazy to get up an look).

no, Nothing Compares 2 U never appeared on a Prince album until it was on the Hits collection. he's played it live, but i think not until after the Family broke up.
