Donald Trump Jr with the tail of a slain elephant while on a hunting safari in Zimbabwe two years ago. He claims to have done 'nothing wrong'.

PHOTOGRAPHS of the sons of US billionaire Donald Trump posing over wild animals after killing them in Zimbabwe have caused a storm of outrage among animal conservation groups and on social networking sites.

The pictures, taken two years ago during a hunting trip in Zimbabwe, show Eric and Donald Trump Jr and tour guides next to carcasses of a leopard, a crocodile, a water buffalo, a civet, a kudu and an array of other animals.

In one of the pictures, Donald Jr holds a severed elephant tail while grasping a knife in his other hand. In another he and his brother are holding up a leopard’s carcass, and in another the brothers pose beside a crocodile suspended from a tree.

The trip was organised by Hunting Legends International, a Pretoria company that specialises in big-game hunting tailored for wealthy clients in Europe, the Middle East and the US.

After the pictures went viral on the internet, thousands chastised the Trump brothers on Twitter and Facebook while animal conservation groups were “outraged” by the pictures. The pictures were also rebuked by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (Peta).

Donald Trump Jr took to Twitter this weekend to defend

himself against a shoal of complaints from users. He said the hunting was sanctioned by the Zimbabwean government and that it was legal.

“In the area I was in, the wildlife board wanted to decrease the numbers for the benefit of the herd. Like liberal deer limits,” he said in one tweet.

“I don’t apologise to cater to public opinion when I did nothing wrong. To do so would be to sell myself out… There are no legal issues at stake,” he tweeted.

“Second, as for PR I’m a hunter I won’t cower from that because of some losers,” Trump continued.

He said the money would be used to fund nature conservation in Zimbabwe.

Stephen Lamb of Touching the Earth Lightly said he was outraged by the pictures and e-mailed a complaint to Hunting Legends.

“Hunting as an activity was there for a reason. It was there for human life sustenance, for people to eat. People who lived in tune with nature and understood their place in it,” Lamb said.

“In a traditional hunter-gatherer sense it was acceptable, but these days are mostly over.

“In a world where we are trying to save animals from extinction, trophy hunting has no place on this planet.

“Conservation is fundamentally a pro-life philosophy, one that respects all things living, equally. Conservation does not need the blood money of rich people who kill for pleasure.

“What conservation initiatives were funded by this killing, and who endorses them?

“Considering Zimbabwe’s legacy of corruption, these are the questions that must be asked. It’s all too easy to use the ‘it’s for conservation’ line,” Lamb said.

In response to Trump Jr’s statement that hunting was because of an overpopulation of the animals in Zimbabwe, Lamb said other measures such as relocation could be considered, and culling was always a last resort. “If you do have to cull, do it in a way that will show respect to the animals.

“Standing over an animal, smiling, with its tail in your hand is not one of them.”

Hunting Legends International’s Phillip Mostert said the hunt took place in the Matetsi Hunting Area near the Victoria Falls.

He said that it was legal and ethically conducted as prescribed by industry norms and regulations.

I want to blindfold him & drop him in the middle of no where. And then inform him he has 1 hour head start. And the 10 hunters behind me know it's Trump season. Let's hunt down this fucker and see if he appreciates life a little more as his is being cut out of him.

When I was doing pool service, every single bug, critter, creature that I saw struggling to live I made sure to carefully rescue & place off in the bushes or grass. Why is one life worth less than any other?

2 reasons to kill something. For food and self defense.

I don't buy the donated the elephant to a local village to eat story for a god damned second. The Trumps could have spent the same amount of money as they paid for their hunting trip to buy rice & grains for that same village & fed a lot more people. Just disgusting.

If that is the reasoning he better head off to China and get to work on the billion+ there. Fucking weak go-to excuse to justify taking a life. Fucking little spoiled cocksucker. I wanna smash his face in.......due to Trump overpopulation of course.

Saying it was for food is obviously complete fucking bullshit.

I've been watching a bit of the US Celebrity Apprentice this season because there are a couple of people I quite like on it and I'm really struck by how mediocre Trump is.

He's no great fountain of smart wisdom, he makes the UK guy Alan Sugar seem like a fucking guru and he's a bit laughable although at least self made.

Both of them pretty much failed and then were saved by the massive property boom as far as I can make out.

Trump of course is the guy that inherited $300 million and managed to go bankrupt. That's beyond fucking Brewsters Millions so I'm guessing his sexcrement are going to be even less use.

That family are a great advert for brutal 95% inheritance taxation for the very rich.

Not sure I get why all the hoopla over a hunt two years ago... not to mention these rich bastard safari hunts go on all the time. They even issue permits to farms/private preserves to literally farm big game specifically for these type of hunts. It's big business and been going on a couple hundreds years now...

It is always nice to say to not kill, but those people are ...assinine..( who even knows how to spell that word ?)

We should kill the Whales first that Krill is going to be needed to feed humans 50 years from now.

Watch and see... "Whale, with a side of delicious Krill, the other, other, pink meats." It's what's for dinner.

Then the PETA people.. I mean they can't be happy all covered with that living skin and meat all over thier bodies.

I love all these Peta people with leather shoes, leather belts, and leather designer hand bags.

I'm all for treating animals decently but they are still animals. I'm not a trophy hunter. I never believed in that. If you kill it use it. Go back to the old native american philosophy. The thing is and the reality is, when you have man encroaching on wild habitats you have to manage these animals. If you just let wild boars reproduce at will you then have an infestation of them and even the most die hard PETA person will yell kill! kill! kill! when they get attacked by boars on their little nature trail.

I wonder if elephant tail soup tastes like ox tail soup? I keep hearing the african elephant is going extinct. They used to sell ivory in Hong Kong when we lived there. The chopsticks at the Royal Hong Kong Jockey Club were always real ivory. Now they have even banned ivory over there now because the trade was wiping out the elephants.

I would like to hunt Ivanka Trump's tail.

Right on. I'm no vegetarian so I will not speak against people who hunt for food. They tend to eat the whole animal or most of it as opposed to us civilized folks who raise large population of animals just so we can eat certain parts, i.e., chicken boneless/skinless chicken breast. The hunters are less wasteful. On the other hand, it's obnoxious to kill an elephant, lion or cheetah. I don't think those animals are overpopulated.

For the most part, bears will leave you alone if you leave them alone. Just never get between a bear and his food. Or a mama bear and her cub. In those two situations, the bear considers you a threat, and then you're fucked.

Saw a mama black bear and her cub up in the mountains once. They were a little ways off in the distance, and baby bear was next to mama, so I wasn't worried at all. Frankly, the piles of cougar shit that were on the trail were far more disturbing, because that big kitteh could have been hiding just about anywhere, and I wouldn't have seen him until it was too late.

The people who preach to us about animals and nature know nothing about what they are saying. You hear these people who have never been hunting in their lives say the hunter has the advantage because he has the gun. Ok. There's that herd of elk over there and just go walk over and shoot one. They will sense you coming in and go up the side of that mountain like nothing. You will never keep up. Us humans are clumbsy and slow. A deer can go up the side of a mountain and make it look effortless. You have to get into shooting range first and then you have to get the proper shot. It's not easy. Most people that go out to shoot some game usually come back home with nothing. If you don't know how to properly locate and stalk game, good luck on killing anything.

Hunting animals is a lot like hunting pussy Friday or Saturday night. Most dudes who go out usually get nothing for their effort.

I have cooked and eaten some of the best food as you can imagine.

There's a difference between leather and fur. As long as people eat beef, then you might as well use the skin too. The animals killed for fur are generally not edible, so it's a wasteful practice, and it's not as though anybody is wearing fur because it's the only way they can stay warm in the winter.

The Native Americans took the proper approach with the buffalo. Show a little respect for the animal, kill it when you need to, and use every part of it that you can (hides for clothing and teepees, bones for tools, etc.)

The Native Americans took the proper approach with the buffalo. Show a little respect for the animal, kill it when you need to, and use every part of it that you can (hides for clothing and teepees, bones for tools, etc.)

You also need to kill the animal quickly. If you aren't sure you can't make the shot you don't take it. Also, they have some wonderful bullets that if placed right really do the job. We had a discussion about this very topic. More animals have been wounded with a 7mm Magnum and a high powered scope than a lower powered rifle with lower powered optics. People get too overconfident in the equipment.

Even with a gun it's still stalking an animal and positioning for a shot. The indians had it harder because their weapons had less range and power but it's the same general idea. Then you get through all that and get to where you are ready to take the shot and you get buck fever. It's the desperation to get the shot off that takes over and you mess up there.

Hunting is a real mental game and if you are a person with no patience it's not for you. It's being in the woods for days, usually in freezing awful weather, going up steep mountain sides with heavy equipment and it's all about being in the moment. If you think golfing is a good escape hunting beats that by several fold.

It's kind of like fishing. Most people that say they are hunting mostly hang in camp and drink booze and tell lies. You have the few die hards in camp that take it seriousely. The problem is you have a bunch of drunks back at camp that are suppossed to have the food cooked when you get back after dark and they usually are three sheets to the wind and nothing has been done and there is no booze left for you because they drank it all. What's funny is my dad told me most the lodges when he was a kid also had gambling dens and whore houses. Sure the husband told the wife he would be hunting over the weekend but he never specified what he would be hunting. With less people doing it now, the whore houses and gambling are gone.

That's y I shoot a Mark V Wetherby in 270 WBY mag
Using 150 grn Nosler Pt's
Every animal I have harvested with that firearm died quickly and all
With ONE shot
I truly respect the animals I hunt and do everything possible
To insure a quick and human kill
And that includes taking the time to
Practice, learn all I can about ballistics etc etc

I am so comfortable with the above firearm that I would face a charging lion

I eat meat. Love a good medium rare steak, bacon, sausage, etc... (now for the hypocrite rant)

But this Trump thing has ZERO to do with being hungry and hunting for food. ZERO!

Just because after he killed animals he decided to toss the carcass to hungry local villagers does not make it that he was hunting for food. That's a bunch of shit to make it seem okay. These Trumps hunted for 2 reasons. Trophies and little dicks. Period.

I think my views are morphing as I get older. I have just experienced seeing too many creatures die. And when you watch something die & you can obviously tell it does not want to die & is fighting to live....it changes your perspective. It has mine at least. I'm not perfect, but I'm striving to be better.

How very complicated it is for something to have life. How simple it is to take that away.

As far as the meat for our food supply...I actually contacted PETA to see if there were any programs or such that were working on improving the methods that these animals were being raised and ultimately put to death. The conditions are pure torture and the failed ways they are put down at the end are atrocious. I think this is seriously wrong. With as advanced as we are today, there should be a more humane way to put a head of cattle down. There should be a more humane way of allowing them space to move during their short life. Of course PETA just responded chastising me for eating any meat. I think they should work in areas where they can make a difference. $0.02

Humane.....not really very humane since I'm ultimately eating the thing. trust me, I see my own hypocrisy here. But really....just because I am going to eat this cow, does it need to spend a short life of torture & be killed in the most awful and slow ways?

Any doctor worth his or her degree will tell you that stress and anxiety have an impact on your body. It's the same for any living creature, including the ones we eat. If a cow or a pig or a chicken has to live its life in a stress filled environment, obviously that's going to be reflected in the part of that animal that you eat. And that's not even accounting for the hormones, GMO corn fed to cows that shouldn't even eat ANY corn at all, antibiotics, etc. I think I've mentioned this before, but I worked for a while in a feed mill that made various types of animal feed for a local dairy company. You had to wear a mask at this job, not just because it was a dusty environment, but what some of that dust was, because the fumes from some of this shit would literally make you gag. When I quit that job, I had to throw away an otherwise perfectly good pair of shoes, because the stench of that place just couldn't be cleaned out of them. (And believe me, when you wear Size 15 shoes, as hard to find as they are, you don't throw them away unless you absolutely HAVE to)

Years ago I qualified for Camp Perry. Yeah I put a lot of work into that rifle. I lapped the bolt with compound and then jeweled it and chromed it. Did all that myself too. That's when I lived in Boise, Idaho and was friends with a gunsmith and had access to all his tools. Then the range was right outside. It was a nice setup.

I used to do sihlouette shooting. Now I just pretty much mess around with the cowboy action stuff. I've gotten pretty good at quick draw. I have a 22 pistol I practice with to save on ammo costs and got to where I could hit the box 50 rounds of 22 come in quite regularly shooting from the hip. It's amazingly how accurate it is once you get the feel down. That's fun.

Elephant meat would not last long in a hot climate. In north America hunting season is in the fall so you have the advantage of having cold weather. As soon as your animal is down you have to gut it out. Leaving the guts in spoils the meat because they start to rot and that goes into the meat. If you bust the bladder you have ruined the meat. There are also glands you have to cut off. A lot to know or your deer is going to taste like shit. I can't imagine gutting an elephant out and processing it in the hot African sun. Imagine the flies. It would take a team of people to process it and they would have to have a lot of salt on hand to do it. I think it's bullshit as well.

People are poor for one main reason. The debt driven banking system wants it that way. The world will only get poorer until the nations of the world wake up and stop paying the central banks for the use of money. Governments can issue their own debt free money and as long as there isn't too little or too much and the government accepts the money in payment for taxes you have the problem fixed. Right now our congress borrows money and the central bank charges us interest on that and then they give the money interest free to banks that charge us even more interest on it. So instead of our money going towards bettering our countries, it goes into banks all around the world that create bubbles and depressions so they can buy everything up cheap after the defaults. Eventually the bankers own everything and the rest of us pay almost all we earn to pay the debt. Fix this scam and believe me, there will be less poverty in the world.

Africa has always been a source of minerals, agricultural land, gold, diamond, and oil for oligarchs. No way in hell do they want the locals to control all that wealth.

Elephants r NOT endangered
As a matter of fact they have become a nusance hence the culling of said elephants

A bullshit technicality. Elephant poachers nearly eradicated the species by the 1970s reducing populations in Chad from 400,000 to 10,000 according to Wiki. They only rebounded DUE TO STRICT PROHIBITIONS ON HUNTING AND THE IVORY TRADE!!

The problem in Africa is the EXPLODING POPULATION And POACHING
The only BIG GAME animal endangered in Africa is the Black and white rhino
And they auction off a few tags a year to generate money to protect these animals through hunting

There are a lot of problems in Africa. The elephant once suffered much of the same poaching pressures as the rhino does today...

In the end, you're just making excuses for inheriting, rich assholes behaving badly. If they want to feed a fucking African village, there's vast means that their wealth would be more efficient rather than running around getting their cocks hard by shooting elephants...

If they really want to help Africans, THEN HUNT THE ULTIMATE GAME--MAN!!! Go out and shoot one of the evil warlord cunts (http://news.yahoo.com/campaign-against-ugandan-warlord-sweeps-internet-023825011.html) that rape, kidnap children for soldiers, and generally terrorize by wantonly killing whomever stands in their way....but selfish, pampered pussies like the Trump bastard children would never actually go after something that would shoot back....

There was a huge controversy over the ivory trade in Hong Kong in the late 70's. In fact, a friend of my parents was an ivory dealer. He had a shop in Hong Kong that sold works of art made from ivory. Some guy from Saudi Arabia bought a huge replica of a ship made of ivory for $5 million Hong Kong Dollars. It was a luxury item and in high demand but then you had the people saying it was time for the tradition to end because elephants were being killed just for their tusks. They also had these cool ivory balls that were carved with a ball inside a ball inside a ball. He would buy the raw ivory and have Chinese artisans carve it into fabulous things and resell it. If you went to a real high end restaurant the chop sticks were solid ivory.

moose;1633400]As if you Argentinians are any better......if I'm not mistaken between 40-60% of the Argemtinians
Hunt.......
Hunting is in your blood
Get over it!!!
By the way there is no better BBQ than when u experience
a Argentinian one
Fuck they grill a mean piece of meat

In two of your post you wrote: "And I can guarantee that if any of you Fuckers had the money NONE and I mean none of you would go to Africa". Well, I have been in Africa, I have friends in Africa. One time I was a week at Addo Elephant National Park of South Africa. I followed the steps of the herd, ten metres away, by day and nigths. The Park was created in 1931 to protect the remainig 11 elephants...and other species....do you guess why???
The main point here is about The Trumps, standing over an animal, smiling with an elephant´s tail in the hand, trading 50.000$ for meat to the poor people of Zimbabwe? This is a joke. People as animals deserve respect, alive and dead.
You can realize that English is not my first language, so I wrote to The Trumps:Hijos de Puta y la Puta Madre que los Parió, but I insulted The Trumps, the individuals, not their Country or their inhabitants. You quoted me and wrote: As if you Argentinians are any better...Mr. Moose: you are insulting the whole people of Argentina, and the Country. Do you want insult me?, is fair. You also said 40-60% of argentinians hunt...., hunting is in our blood??? What did you mean??? We are mostly indians living on a tree?? Hunting, with bow an arrow? You insult again. Weapons, guns are prohibited in this Country, nobody has a gun, only in some rural areas, mostly for protection, rarely for hunting related with tourism in controlled places. I don´t know any argentinian hunter. You mention our famous BBQ, "asado" in Spanish, Braai in Afrikaans, just animal meat industry, it´s a product nothing related with hunting. Please back to topic.

Why don't you try Kibble or Kibbie it's the Jewish/Syrian verson of steak tar, tar. It's made with lamb instead. All in all I don't eat much red meat let alone completely raw. I'll stick with sushi....cooked eel instead.
Veal is ok. Steak tar tar sucks.

Um, you do realize that African elephant populations have been decimated, do you? .

Wait. Aren't there 2 main species of elephants? Is the other 1 Asian or Indian? Shit. Different ears or something, not sure.

Hey, remember I'm the one that started the Roth Army weaponry thread.

http://www.rotharmy.com/forums/showthread.php?53779-GUNS-firearms-weaponry&highlight=

I have guns & love using them. I have killed things before and just don't want to any more. I'm all for people having the right to hunt things. I just try to make them think twice before they decide to take that life away. Just be damn sure you are doing it for a solid reason.

It's easy to kill. Load, point, squeeze.

It's near impossible to save. After trying so hard to save my dogs & doing everything I was possibly capable of over a long period of time, I realized just how hard it is to keep life going. Yet way too easy to end it.

Just think twice. Cause once you make that decision, you can't fix it. And regret sucks.

Everybody with money and when I say that I mean LOADS of money do things to stroke their ego's.....either it be buying planes, and cars and buliding huge mansions which in turn leads to raping our resources and polluting our enviorment etc etc...get my drift??
These guys are stroking their egos in a different way.....they are shooting rogue elephants as part of a culling program.....killing a leapord that the biologists and authorities deem as a necessity because of the danger it poses on the local village................there are so many benefits that hunting brings to Africa that we as North Americans do not realize, we have everything we can basically need at our fingertips......not so much them.
Thats what I am defending.........the people of Africa need this type of "safari".....so who are we to bitch about that, they deserve to eat and work and put clothes on their back and give their kids an education......stuff that we take for granted.
How much food do we as North Americans waste??
