Yes, who?

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/61S6ARsyRcL._SL500_AA300_.jpg

Don't know much about this dude other than he has a really nice ES that he obviously substitutes for his small penis and I won't mention his horrible fashion sense. Bought this (along with a bunch of other crap) at the used CD bin because it appeared to be interesting - it's not.

I'm much too lazy to Google his sorry ass but Warren here sounds like every other insipid bar band guitar player recycling the same ol' bar band guitar player riffs and solos. Not sure nor do I care about what in the fuck his "influences" are because his sounds too much like what all his influences are. This is music for those who want to knowledgeable about music - like yuppies who go to bar bands to hear aural blandness such as this.

So I'm out @$6.27. Like I care.

Doubt he got the Allman Brothers gig because he sucked... Gov't Mule wasn't completely terrible. I prefer Derek Trucks, but Haynes isn't a slouch...

He is not a bad player, it's just that he is not all that original or interesting too listen to. Come to think of it, it sounds recycled Allman Brothers.

Warren is probably best known for replacing dead guitar legends... He's toured with the Allman Brothers and with What's Left of The Grateful Dead. He also had his own hippy jam band called Gov't Mule.

Well, that certainly explains the blandness.

The original three piece Gov't Mule with Matt Abts on drums and the incomparable Allen Woody on bass was a jaw-dropping live band. Put it this way, after Woody passed away, Haynes and Abts had to replace him not only with another bassist, they had to get a keyboard player as well to make up for Woody's absence. It's a crying shame, as today they are more well known for their uncanny ability to cover other people's songs than for anything they have come up with on their own.

Still one of the top 5 live albums ever made, if you can find it. The reissue from late last decade inexplicably features a rather pointless Hendrix cover featuring Jack Casady and Chuck Leavell instead of the original line up.

Losing Allen was a huge blow to the band......they've never really recovered from that.

Didn't we have a thread here with a bunch of vids in it from Allen's time with the Mule?

I have a boot somewhere with Warren and Allen jamming with the Black Crowes @ The Joint.

I'll have to dig that up!

I bought Allman bros Seven Turns when it came out because of all the Warren Haynes hype. I was bored. Then I listened to several more of his solo cuts. OMG I was more bored. I gave up. He's not interesting to me.

So, basically, Warren is a fat hippie who loves to play other people's songs.

Thanks.

I find Gov't Mule to be amazing. Warren Haynes has the most amazing tone I've ever heard. I can see it not being for everyone though. I often hear him compared to Bonamassa or Trucks, and I don't care for those two. I agree, that the Gov't Mule at Roseland should set the record straight.

I can appreciate sarcasm....

I can appreciate biting sardonic humor...

But if you're just looking for a punchline, then that's kinda sad.

I don't care if he wrote the song....I dont care if he tips the scales north of 300....

The man has chops, plays with soul, and makes me enjoy listening to him play....

:gulp:

I'm sure I could pick apart whatever neo-pop fuzz nerd you enjoy listening to as well......

Enjoy the song, enjoy the player, or don't.....no need to comment on his girth or his unwashed fans.

I will agree with kristy that this music is soooooo boring but to each his/her own. The guy has way more musical talent than I will ever have. I do think it's comical how someone who is blatanly ripping off Joan Jett's look in her profile pic is so eager to point out how people like Jimmy Page and Warren hayes are ripping everyone off and don't have an ounce of originality. Get over yourself honey, you didn't invent angst and your edgyness is so cliche. Zeppelin sucks? Get a clue.
