I go with "And The Cradle Will Rock...". It really stands out from a composition standpoint.

I gotta go with 'And The Cradle Will Rock..'. as the BEST song. As far as favorite song goes - I've always been partial to 'In A Simple Rhyme.' Just something about that song that makes me think: "There's a little Van Halen in all of us..."

I am torn but I can tell you I absolutely despise "Loss of Control"

I like the panic of "Loss of control" it's a bundle of energy, barely a song, a little prophetic.

Seen loss of control in concert once it kicked ass live. HBSD is the new loc.My fav would have to be in a simple rhyme.

Romeo Delight.

Fast, furious, diverse.

Have always been kind of ho-hum about And The Cradle.

Fools is a close second to Romeo Delight.

I just can't decide between Take Your Whiskey Home or In a Simple Rhyme. Take your Whiskey Home is such a great rock song. In A Simple Rhyme is a different kind of Van Halen song. And Romeo is no slouch.

Although I dig the bombastic genius of "Fools", my favorite track is "Everybody Wants Some!!". It's a party anthem, it's Al's tour de force, and the 'line up the back of the stockings' rap is completely spontaneous and off the cuff. Dave was just fucking around in the vocal booth and everyone in the studio was laughing their ass off and decided "fuck it, leave it on there!".

It's hard to see the pure brilliance of that because we've all heard it 30 million times, but it's an element of the band that I wished they would do more of...

....look I'll pay you for it, what the fuck....

Romeo Delight is my favorite, and it's hard because there's just so many great ones to choose from. Eddies solo on that one is burning and it's all picked which is cool. The volume swells and just the overall heavy revved up vibe of the song is spectacular.

I've always loved the very under-rated 'WACF' album a lot, and feel bad that the band has mostly neglected these songs on their live shows.

That said, I love ALL the songs on the album, but if I have to choose just one, Romeo Delight is probably my absolute favourite. That's the way I voted, too. :)

I think the whole album is VH reduced to its essence - energy, humour, blistering guitar, DLR attitude.

Romeo Delight it is for me. What dya all think of Ed's solo? Mike sounds like he's cutting loose at the same time. Awesome stuff.
