About 50 kM north of my home in Tahoe but I'm working in Hawaii so I missed the spectacle. Here are a couple of regional newspaper articles. One has excellent photos.

Dammit, I just want one of those to fall in my yard. Not that big, but one about the size of a basketball would be fine.

They are worth more than platinum, and I could use the cash right now. One the size of a basketball could be worth as much as half a million bucks....

Just last summer a guy was on the main street of a small town just outside of Nashville. He heard a sound like a sizzling frying pan, and then a small "POW!". He looked over to see that a fist-sized meteorite had hit the asphalt only about 20 feet from him. It was on our local news. News peeps said it could be worth tens of thousands of dollars, mainly because they guy was right there when it hit and so there was the "provenance" of how he got it.
