Her unique vocal stylings free her from the tedious burdens of lyric memorization.
It's a rare video and if you watch it you will be grateful you avoided it this long.
It's good to see her get impersonated at the end of the song though. John looks pissed for a second.

Wow....being an incredibly talented musician (John) doesn't always equate to having taste (Yoko).

Yoko thought everything was performance art. Her concept here was probably something like "Imagine you are a hyena, skinned and trampled under a herd of stampeding elephants".

Yoko must have been a great lay and John must have been high as a mofo. There can be no other explanation.

More than the drugs or anything else, it was actually John's "mommy issues" that attracted him to Yoko in the first place. He pretty much admits this in the Beatles song "Julia", which was supposedly written for his mother......

Half of what I say is meaningless
But I say it just to reach you,
Julia

Julia, Julia, ocean child, calls me
So I sing a song of love, Julia

The name "Yoko Ono", translated into English, means "ocean child". So John is basically admitting here that she's not only his new wife, but a substitute for his mother. Oh well (as he would say in another song) "whatever gets you through the night....."

I think Jay knows something about that.

The thing of it is, I really dig a lot of what John Lennon did.

It'd be fair to say Yoko was a main source of songwriting inspiration to John, but she's never had any talent to my ears. Not really a case of her being too "avant-garde" and that I just don't "get" her, either. She's just irritating. I feel tremendous sympathy for her (as pretty much any human being with a degree of empathy would) losing John in that horrible way, but I simultaneously don't care for the way she pretty much hitched a ride on John's talent train and used that as a vehicle to get herself exposure.

Whatever Lennon saw in her as an artist, I'm not seeing it.

I always thought those noises she was making were reenactments of the orgasm noises she made in bed with John. And we've all heard the weird noises that Japanese women make in their porn.

I think John Lennon was amazing.....it's too bad drugs caught up with him and made him waste priceless years of his life. It seems like he was finally coming back to earth and then he was killed. I watch old Stones shows from the early 70's and can't help but think....damn, the Beatles should have been playing epic shows thoughout the 70's too....there were no more screaming 13 yr old girls in hysterics, just would have been good, mellow rock and roll shows in pot smoke filled arenas. Too bad Nixon never got rid of Yoko.

Yeah man totally agree.I would love to of known what type of show the Beatles couldve of put on.I mean they didnt exactly have a stage presence but they used to be like a human juke box in the early 60s and play marathon sets of anything. Its too bad they never really filmed a proper concert at the end. From the let it be release fly on the wall disc they discuss filming a concert on the queen elizabeth cruise ship or something and George Harrison didnt want to be stuck on a boat with a bunch of drunks.

I bought a bootleg copy of the Let it be sessions on dvd a few years ago called Let It Be video archive and they talk about the cruise ship idea.....it's a shame because they were becoming much more of a rock and roll/bluesy band towards the end....and George harrison was just coming into his own as a song writer. I love their early stuff too....they were very tight in the beginning.....BBC sessions is great.
