Maybe I'll watch the movie 'Foxes' this weekend as a tribute.

The really sad part? All the people who loved her are now beginning to plot against one another. Everything they do or say from this point on (probably since a few months ago) is not what it seems. Everything has an angle and is meant to better position themselves and hurt the opponents position. Money is evil.

If you have anything of value, make an extremely clear & iron clad will and let everyone know in advance of exactly how you want shit to go down.

Can't say I'm a fan, since I always despised disco, but still was shocked to hear the news on the radio just now. She made a 17 minute song out of orgasmic moaning, and for that alone, she should be remembered, I guess. :(

I never ever got the disco thing and hated it. Looking back at it it was polyester decadence covered in cum, rolled in cocaine and dropped into the Studio 54 deep fryer. 17 minutes worth of orgasmic moaning is the appropriate background music. Of course I was a grade school kid at the time and my world revolved around KISS.

....Who were on the same record label. The Village People too. In fact, I remember reading somewhere that the reason Chaim couldn't get VH a record deal when he produced their demo tape is because Casablanca was only interested in signing disco acts. KISS was their only rock band.

Interesting. I have always argued with the rock historians that say Bruce Springsteen brought rock and roll back. One reason I loved the 80's is that whole soft rock and disco stuff of the 70's disappeared and was replaced but such a cornucopia of great music. I mean Captain and Tennille and Pablo Cruise were gone.

Kiss was their own unique rock thing that was getting attention and there were some rock bands but they were either fading ala Led Zepellin or couldn't get attention ala The Ramones. KISS had to be outlandish to make it in the 70's.

What brought rock back was Van Halen. Not only did it bring rock and roll back but it brought it's new thing that people have been trying to copy for years and never can. Bruce Springsteen will be forgotten and he already is but VH will always be rediscovered as being something unique.

Springsteen's breakthrough album was "Born To Run" in 1975. That might have put 3-5 minute rock songs back on the map, as opposed to the 4 songs on a double album metaphysical horseshit that Yes and other bands of that sort were doing at the time. Hell, The Boss even had his long songs, like Jungleland or Rosalita. They just didn't SEEM as long. But that was before disco. I would say the bands that ended disco were Van Halen and The Knack.

To say Bruce is "forgotten" is ridiculous though.... the guy still sells out stadiums every time he tours, and his albums still do pretty well, last time I checked. Though now he has to do it without Clarence, so that has yet to be seen what kind of impact that will have.

AC/DC would have to play a huge role, too. Back In Black in particular.

Very much so. As well as Blizzard Of Ozz and Live At Budokan. Crazy Train & I Want You To Want Me/Surrender were on radio constantly.

Donna Summer was convinced -- inhaling toxic air after 9/11 gave her the lung cancer that eventually killed her ... TMZ has learned.

Sources close to the singer tell TMZ what we were hearing this morning -- that Donna was in New York City during 9/11, living at an apartment near Ground Zero.

Donna became almost paranoid about breathing the air, which was heavy with a rancid odor.

In the months and years following 9/11, Donna's feelings intensified. One source tells us when he was around Donna, she would constantly spray some sort of disinfectant in the air. Deney Terrio, the host of "Dance Fever," tells us ... when he was around Donna post 9/11, she would hang silk sheets in her dressing room to prevent dust from coming in.

And one source says ... Donna, who was a fervent practicing Christian, believed 9/11 was an attack on Christianity and in some metaphysical way Christians like her were targets. She somehow felt that her illness was a byproduct of the attack.

And, we're told, after Donna was diagnosed with lung cancer, several people told her that cigarette smoke may have been the culprit -- she was a smoker, and she also frequented clubs where people smoked. But Donna simply didn't buy it.

Just because she's dead doesn't stop her from being an idiot hole.

Yet another showbiz person who makes their money and has amazing fun doing everything and everyone before telling the rest of us we shouldn't do very much at all because of her newly found invisible sky daddy.

She gets lung cancer and blames 9-11 even though she wasn't outside because she says she cowered for days in her room?
