Not to correct you, Scratch, but the post indicates his symptoms didn't manifest until a 3-year period of not using MMJ (likely to do with his probation). Hoping weed and hemp oil isn't the only treatment course he's pursuing... :(

(likely to do with his probation).

I think Tommy had in his possession at the time of his arrest twenty four pounds of marijuana, 5,000 LSD capsules, and a gallon of ripple wine.

Ah, I guess that would explain it then. Still not sure about how Bob Marley ever got cancer though, unless his suspicions were correct that it came from a CIA needle that was planted in his shoe.

It's pretty much become established medical fact that cancerous tumors feed on sugar, and it's also a fact that marijuana lowers blood sugar, as anybody who has ever been high can tell you. (i.e. "the munchies").

So it should be considered medicine for both cancer and diabetes, but since it's a plant, only my Former Employer can claim a right to a patent, and that really pisses off Big Pharma, so they will continue to lobby against legalization while continuing to push their patented overpriced poisons.

One thing you can do in the early stages of cancer is just saturate your body with oxygen and eat a diet that will give you alkaline PH blood. This is also useful in preventing getting cancer. In fact they have found patients who are on CPAP therapy have less cancer and the research shows it's because people on CPAP machine have higher oxygen levels. I've also read where hemp oil is useful in treating mild cases of skin cancer.

As far as smoking hemp I can't imagine holding smoke in your lungs is a good thing.

I wish the best for Tommy. The guy always seemed to have a positive spin on life even when he had to serve prison time over something stupid.

Pot won't prevent the cancers, just make the treatments a lot easier to deal with.

I thought pot just helped lessen the felt nausea. Maybe that explains why I smoked a ton of it when I went to see a Sammy Hagar show.

Pot is used to lessen the nausea caused by chemotherapy. As for smoking hemp...useless, won't even give you a buzz. Hemp and the weed we smoke are not the same thing

It's not a medical fact that cancerous tumors feed on sugar any more than any other cell in your body although there was a hoax viral email that did the rounds a couple of years back.

The conspiracy theory about big pharma ignores the billions spent by cancer charities each year on research and also that for example aspirin is made from a plant and not under patent and it's very easy to buy it.

BTW is it common knowledge that the head of the America Cancer Society gets a $2.2 million salary?

I never got vomity during my chemo. Was warned about it a billion times & prescribed some gnarly pills that I stopped taking after about 4 days. Felt better without them. I had zero appetite though. So I guess had I got high at least I would have eaten & maybe not lost as much weight. But pot also would have helped regulate my sleep and just made everything a little more bearable. Not sleeping and not eating were the 2 worst parts I think. That and being freezing all the time.

Yes.

My youngest sister is undergoing chemo right now. All her hair has fallen out. She will begin radiation treatments soon.

She is responding well, from what the test results say.

Sucks about Tommy.....but then, did he ever smoke cigarettes?

He WAS a health nut as well. These days, you can get cancer just from being alive....but yes, I would say holding hot gasses in your lungs is not conducive to good health.

That is why I would prefer to use a vape, or some other waterpipe or whatever that would remove some of the carcinogens or problematic substances involved in hot gas.....

And Bob Marley injured his toe while playing soccer, and never had it treated. He wound up with toe cancer, Acral lentiginous melanoma, a kind of skin cancer.
Acral lentiginous melanoma is observed on the palms, soles and under the nails. It occurs on non hair-bearing surfaces of the body which may or may not be exposed to sunlight. It is also found on mucous membranes. Unlike other forms of melanoma, acral lentiginous melanoma does not appear to be linked to sun exposure.
It is the most common form of melanoma diagnosed amongst Asian and black ethnic groups.

The cancer then spread.....

I just lost my 15 year old nephew a month ago to a rare childhood cancer. He fought it for two and a half years but it finally took over too many places in him and there was nothing else they could do...I ache for my brother every day losing his son, he will never be the same. Glad your doing well sadaist and my thoughts are with your sister Hardrock69...cancer sucks
My nephew did try a marijuana pill but he said it didn't do anything for him, I think he just like the idea of trying pot in front of his family!! lol.

I certainly believe in a combination of western and eastern/holistic medicine. I'd lived out of the country for almost 2 decades-where medical care was not so good overall. My first dog at 12 got osteosarcoma (fancy word for bone cancer). I was told if I did not amputate/chemo, he had 4 weeks. Mind you the chemo protocol was 4 hours away and really he (vet) was not overly confident on it anyway. I know a vet here in Philly who told me all about it even from a first world perspective. I knew already a large dog at age 12..he just did not want that life. Left with no choice, I changed his diet completely no very low carb/no sugar, no bagged food, and got a Chinese Herbal medicine supplement used there for cancer as well as a pain medicine from the vet. We got an additional 8 months-which is another almost 5 years in dog life with him before we put him to sleep (before bad pain). That beat the 4 months and the vet was shocked. The second dog also got cancer at an elderly age...he lasted 2 years longer than was 'supposed' to.

My father in law had cancer-did chemo, surgery, etc. Doctors told him he could eat whatever. Yeah right. That did not work. He could not eat anything and we had such a lean healthy diet. It took a ton of work. We did both regular med and holistic med route. He lived much longer-he even became cancer free till it spread 5 years later somewhere else.

Currently my daughter has a medical condition. She takes medication. I also see an integrative MD for this speciality, besides her regular specialist. Well, the issue lifted and the pharma/hard drug doctors can tell me it was all their meds, but I don't for a second believe it was 'just that'. I believe it to be a combo. In fact some of the medicines she was on were horrible.

For the person with the cancer in the family I would keep your eyes wide open and use both and all approaches. I have friends that are doctors and I have nothing but respect. However, medical books do not teach the whole picture. It takes a ton of time to learn and research, weed out quacks, or find an MD or specialist knowledgable about both.....but I have had nothing but good results..the last being what I call miraculous with my daughter.

The quacks that prey on the terminally ill with cancer are the worst.

Taking money from desperate people and wasting what little time they have left. I would throw them in jail. I think you have quite a few who now operate 'clinics' in Mexico so they are untouchable.

Sometimes people go to those because they know they are dying and want to spend their moments in a more tranquil environment instead of a sterile hospital room or hospice....

Not so bad for a dude. HORRIBLE for a girl. Although the head hair wasn't the bad part it was the eyelashes & eyebrows & the likes. You really look funky. Can always tell actors in movies & TV are faking it because they just shave their head and maybe....maybe go the extra mile & take off the eyebrows.

Look at the eyelashes!

So small & you never notice...but man when they are gone you look weird. Funny thing though HR, when I was first bald I took a shower. Got out & the whole fucking bathroom was soaking. WTF? Well, when you are bald the water bounces off your head & right over the shower door. LOL! Ask your sister if she has noticed this. Just a little something funny about a crummy situation. i never realized my hair acts as a cushion & absorbent as much as it does.

Anyways, if she is worried about it growing back, tell her not to. Mine came back just as good (if not a little better in spots) than before. Color is the same but the very 1st growth was white. Weird but kinda cool. When I first saw that first fuzz on my head it was white! Like St Nick white. No shit.

Thanks for your concern guys.

And bb, sorry to hear about your nephew.

No parent should outlive their children. :(

When I was in my teens there was a house down the block with 3 brothers. The oldest was 2 years older than I was, and was a genius. He built his own pinball machine when he was 10 years old.

One day in the seventh-grade I was at some school assembly (Ted was in the 9th-grade), and there was some announcement made by the principal about a future event for Ted.

I was confused. After the assembly I went to the principal and asked what the deal was.

He replied: "Ted has leukemia".

He lived to be 18 years old. He was a senior in my high school when I was a sophomore in 1976, and I was hanging out with him after school in the computer club. Ted already knew more about computers than anyone at the high school. Back then there were just a few monitors, some old baud-style phone modems, and keyboards. No mice, nothing fancy, and what we would do would be to call up the local university and log in to their mainframe. It was my earliest experience with computers.

He used to have to go to Kansas City for treatment.....then came the bad news.....

I did not go to the funeral. Call me crazy but I want to remember people as they were when they were alive.

Cancer is evil. And yes, the goddamnable fucks who prey on people in hopeless situations are evil as well.

My family tends to have the opposite problem. We live too long. I can count relatives who have lived over 100 on both hands. My mom's aunt is 107 and can't figure out why she is still around. She has lost her sight and is ready to go. The problem is your sight goes, your hearing goes, your mind goes. I've seen too many relatives spend years in old folks homes and nursing homes because the family no longer can take care of them. Then they spend 20 to 30 years there.

What people need to realize is they just have to live in the moment. Now is the most important time of your life. I see too many people saying they will be happy in some magical time in the future that they never seem to reach. I've seen people stay in jobs they hate only to retire and die of a heart attack because the stress at work is no longer in their lives and they relax and they die. Especially nowadays when everything is so unstable you just can't make long-term plans because the financial and government matrix we exist in can't. Look at the stupid congress, they can't even make a five year budget.

I tried hard to live my 20's free from bills and responsibility and loans. The cancer I get will be from the pressure and guilt forced on me from other people who seem to think their life is "the way." That's the saddest and most frustrating thing about life. You can't do anything or be anybody or more importantly help anybody without some envious jealous wanna-be at your heels, cutting in on your mustard. Power hungry people everywhere. Or maybe they're just lonely people. The older I get the more I see the "cancer" that is growing in the minds of human.
And I know I'm not safe from it either because, to be honest, lately my will to live has been in regression. They've fashioned a world of exploitation from the top down and now even the people are subconsciously (or consciously) participating in it. It gets a man down.

I watched a documentary recently about the Dr. Burzynski who had to fight the federal gov for years because he had patented a well documented treatment for certain types of cancer. It was very interesting and doesn't surprise me at all. When it comes to money, the folks who hold the power will kill for the pill that heals.

Is it because we aren't paying attention to what's in our food and diet that cancer is on the rise?
We cannot rely on the media or what's "scientifically proven" like all the ads say. It's all a scare campaign to make you think you are sick, or could get sick so you take preventative pills and pharmaceutical nick-nacks but they just want your money suckers!!

The American diet is a festering pool of carcinogenic chemicals...

Ways around it include:

Fresh vegetables. Lots of them...

High quality meats. Never overlooked or burnt. Small portions...

Eggs. Lots of them. Never over cooked...

Antioxidants. Find products with a high ORAC scale and stock up...

Use real butter and avoid oils and other fats...

Limit bread and pasta...

Avoid corn poison and sugar...

Supplement with vitamins, minerals, EFAs (omega 3,6,9) and selenium...

Avoid all nitrates and nitrites...

Avoid or limit BBQ...

Avoid all fast food...

Limit alcohol...

Drink water and more water...

Limit soft drinks...

Drink more water...
