Last night on the Science Channel, I saw something that blew my mind.

A documentary called "Trek Nation". It was created by the son of Gene Roddenberry, creator of Star Trek.

He was only 17 when his Dad died in 1991, and had no idea of his father's effect on our world.

As a man, he went on a voyage of discovery about his Dad.

Trek Nation was the end result.

Not everyone's Dad created a legacy that affected the lives of hundreds of millions of people.

But, as a tribute to a Father, Trek Nation is deeply moving, and very much worth seeing.

It is going to be on once more at 3 or 4 AM tomorrow morning. So if any of you have a TIVO, you might want to record it and check it out. I give it two thumbs up.

Thus endeth the review. ;-)

I caught this several months back. It's worth checking out. It's a trip looking back on the old footage from the first conventions and seeing the stars being treated like rock royalty!

This is from 1997, and still holds up. The film features the involvement of Denise Crosby from STTNG.

I also heve seen this several times it is good that his kid has a similar vision as Gene , he owns it now ...most of the legacy/rights, anyway.

I had no idea if he was down as they say, until I found out he produced ( on this documentary) and worked hands on on the Star Trek Phase 2 series I believe was filmed in Canada. It was a raw, home made like show with original scripts, sets and film footage, twisted and new actors playing the same rolls, kinda cool kinda silly...buy I like that he wasn"t a Kardasian style wannabe that talked shit demanded attention, and did nothing but claim special privileges.

Cool thread.
