They are surprisingly popular and said to be very comfortable. They are supposed to be as close to barefoot as you can get but still have some protection.

Please, don't do it. There are many other types of shoes that do the same thing, but look better. I have been working with shoes for 5 years. Ecco has a model called Biom that does the same thing, if not better. Also anything by Adidas is really great.

I've already got a pair of the Nike Free running shoes, they are similar in concept and I like those.

But yes, DB maybe I would if they would help with my chronic back pain. Probably not out in public though.
