Obama was in Ohio wrapping up Day One of a two-day bus tour of Ohio and Pennsylvania, two important swing states in the election.

Obama spoke to several patrons and one, Jeff Hawks, had an unusual offer for the president.

"I'll arm-wrestle you for your vote," Hawks said to Obama, according to the pool report from the event.

"No, I'll play basketball for your vote," Obama replied.

There ended up being no face-off. Obama spent about an hour at the pub, talking with people and drinking a Bud Light.

She did mention that she started out with small things, such as pencils or clothespins. After that, it was a steady escalation in sizes...

Yeah, he really should drink better beer. If it's all for the photo ops, he should have somebody on his team researching what the local brands are. Preferably a decent microbrew. I could see him drinking a Budweiser product if he were campaigning in St. Louis maybe. But what the HELL does it have to do with Amherst Ohio???

Somebody should send Barry a link to FORD's Beercyclopedia. :gulp:

Best local brew atm.

I'm more of a yuengling man myself though.

I'd have gone with a Miller if I were him, if he was looking to go for a name beer.

Not when he's drinking that swill. Bud Light and Coors Light are what I keep on tap here in Hell to torment beer drinkers. (It's not in my personal beer cooler though, obviously)

Speaking of clothes pins. One story I remember hearing from the Van Halen 1984 show in San Diego was one girl in the crowd was wearing only those on each nipple. First, OUCH! Second....hot!

How could anybody NOT love a brewery with products like "Burning River Pale Ale", "Lake Erie Monster IPA", "Nosferatu" and "Blackout Stout" :gulp:

Gotta get this stuff distributed in Hell somehow. (Not for the damned, of course. Just for me and the succubi) http://www.cosgan.de/images/smilie/teufel/d025.gif

that shit has not lived up to it's hype.

i work with a guy who lives in PA, and he'd regularly bring Yuengling in for some co-workers. i tried it after the "official" Ohio introduction, and i was not impressed.

i have taken some Great Lakes up to Toronto and it was very well received. i think i may be the only person in the county that does not care for their Christmas Ale.
