Can we have a phrase instead of "Climate Change Deniers": "Climate Change Don't-Give-A-Fuckers?"

There's nothing anyone can do about it until China and India play ball with us on this. Until then, it's just the US and EU that are tying our own hands industrially and economically.

Then that's a separate, but valid, issue, and should be addressed without denying basic science. Nobody is more aware of this than China's budding Green movement...

In Vancouver, Canada, it has been hotter than hell since May, and even right now, at 10pm, it is 12 degrees, I just walked my dog around my neighborhood in my shorts and a hoodie.

It used to be cold this time of year. Now it is warm. There is absolutley no question in my mind that this part of the globe is far warmer each year, no doubt about it at all. I wish it was cold, I'm sick of being hot all the time, like I'm living in a sauna for fuck sakes, too much humidity, not enough cold air.

Even Al Gore doesn't give a shit any more because he made his millions off it. Arnold Shwarzenegger totally fucked California with the global warming initiative. Just another way to squeeze out more tax money from the people. These fuckers won't rest until they get all of our money. Everyone just work for the government & they will supply us with our food & housing.

Global Warming was just a passing trend to create more taxes, rules & regulations.

2012 Has Been Warmest Year In U.S. To Date, Third Hottest Summer

Posted: 09/10/2012 2:03 pm

From Climate Central's Andrew Freedman:

Driven by a warmer-than-average June, the hottest ever July, and a warmer-than-average August, the summer of 2012 will go down in the history books as the third-warmest summer on record for the lower 48 states, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) announced Monday. The nation’s second-warmest summer occurred just last year, and the only other summer that was warmer than the past two occurred during the Dust Bowl era of 1936. This summer was just two tenths of a degree cooler than the summer of 1936.

2012 warmest year

For the year-to-date, the U.S. had its warmest eight months of any year on record, and the past 12 months have been the warmest such period as well. During the eight-month period, 33 states were record warm and 12 states ranked in the top 10.

Sixteen states in the West, Plains, and Upper Midwest had summer temperatures among their 10 highest, as did seven Northeastern states from New Hampshire to Maryland. Colorado and Wyoming each had their record hottest summer. In Wyoming, the seasonal-average temperature was nearly 5°F above average.

The summer heatwaves this year were not quite as intense as the heat in 2011, but they affected more people. According to NOAA, more than 80 million people — about 10 million more than 2011 — experienced 100°F temperatures this summer. Climate change studies show that heat waves are becoming more common as manmade global warming continues. For the summer as a whole, warm-temperature records outnumbered cool-temperature records by a ratio of 3.5 to 1.

Factoid

A factoid is a questionable or spurious (unverified, false, or fabricated) statement presented as a fact, but with no veracity. The word can also be used to describe a particularly insignificant or novel fact, in the absence of much relevant context.[1] The word is defined by the Compact Oxford English Dictionary as "an item of unreliable information that is repeated so often that it becomes accepted as fact".[2]

Do you live in Alaska? How was Iowa, when I was there last it was pretty hot. And snow in itself means nothing as Global Warming can actually cause unsettled weather as it doesn't even need to be freezing to get snow. We had a lot of snow here about six years ago in early October 2006, I wasn't in town, but that heavy, wet snow took out a good portion of the trees and was a federal disaster. It almost never had snowed here in early October with any accumulation anyways. But we got almost two feet IIRC, with fairly warm temperatures....

But good job ignoring the facts I posted about 2012 being the hottest fucking year on record to pull some dipshit "factoid" out of your asshole...

How did we cause the dust bowl ?

We didn't but a never before seen climate change turned a large part of this country into a wasteland for a long time.

It's nothing more than crying wolf .

without any data other than seeing earths climate make a change in an unfavorable direction , they can't predict what's going to happen to climates any better than they can give a accurate 5 day forecast , LOL.

It rarely gets that cold here, but I can remember a year that we had 100 degree below wind chills.

You must be out near Montana or there abouts.

If it gets 40 below where your at, you should be in favor of global warming and not arguing with me. :)

I live in what is called the quad cities along the Mississippi River.

Different city's have events like parades so they alternate trick or treat nights so everyone can attend.

Works out great for the kids, two nights of candy.

A lot of parents shuttle kids across the river so they can trick or treat a couple nights.

No

It rarely gets that cold here, but I can remember a year that we had 100 degree below wind chills.

You must be out near Montana or there abouts.

If it gets 40 below where your at, you should be in favor of global warming and not arguing with me. :)

I live in what is called the quad cities along the Mississippi River.

Different city's have events like parades so they alternate trick or treat nights so everyone can attend.

Works out great for the kids, two nights of candy.

A lot of parents shuttle kids across the river so they can trick or treat a couple nights.

Roth And Roll

No wonder so many kids down there are fat. They are double dipping in the Halloween candy for fuck sakes.

In my country, they only have one night to trick or treat. I actually ate most of the peanut butter cups myself already, so I'm hoping the little hellions don't come knocking, so I can hog it all to my self.

Those damned firecrackers drive my dog bonkers, I have to keep him inside, or he gets spooked.:boom::hee::pullinghair::yum:

How did we cause the dust bowl ?

We didn't but a never before seen climate change turned a large part of this country into a wasteland for a long time.

It's nothing more than crying wolf .

without any data other than seeing earths climate make a change in an unfavorable direction , they can't predict what's going to happen to climates any better than they can give a accurate 5 day forecast , LOL.

Perspective....

Weather change....it is real because we are still coming out of the last ice age.
We tend to think everything happens in our life time...reality is even if you live to a hundred it is still a speck compared to what the earth has gone through.

Do many people even realize that at one time the earth had no ice caps?

The Potash that I mine is actually an ancient sea bed....over 300 million years old....and the equator was actually here....almost in the middle of Saskatchewan.

The best way to look at is that climate change is a fact of life.

The problem is we are polluting our environment...destroying our home...and that needs to be dealt with.
We are perhaps speeding it up...or just plain poisoning ourselves.

We should lose the climate change religion...that is easy to be divisive on.

It should be about polluting....the science can not dispute that.

EL NIÑO/SOUTHERN OSCILLATION (ENSO) DIAGNOSTIC DISCUSSION
issued by
CLIMATE PREDICTION CENTER/NCEP/NWS
and the International Research Institute for Climate and Society
4 October 2012
ENSO Alert System Status: El Niño Watch
Synopsis: Borderline ENSO-neutral/ weak El Niño conditions are expected to continue into Northern Hemisphere winter 2012-13, possibly strengthening during the next few months.
During September 2012, the trend towards El Niño slowed in several key oceanic and atmospheric indicators. However, the Pacific basin reflects borderline ENSO-neutral/ weak El Niño conditions. Equatorial sea surface temperatures (SST) remained elevated across the Pacific Ocean (Fig. 1), although anomalies decreased during the month as indicated by weekly index values in the Niño regions (Fig. 2). The oceanic heat content (average temperature in the upper 300m of the ocean) anomalies also weakened (Fig. 3), but continued to show large regions of above-average temperatures at depth across the equatorial Pacific (Fig. 4). Interestingly, low-level westerly wind anomalies were evident over the equatorial western Pacific Ocean (Fig. 5), which may portend possible strengthening of the subsurface anomalies in the coming months. Despite these winds, the atmosphere was still largely ENSO-neutral, as reflected by the Southern Oscillation index and near-average upper-level and lower-level winds across much of the Pacific. Tropical convection increased near the Date Line, which is consistent with weak El Niño conditions, but also remained elevated over eastern Indonesia, which is further westward than expected (Fig. 6). Thus, the atmosphere and ocean indicate borderline ENSO-neutral/ weak El Niño conditions.

Why Jill Stein went to the front line of the climate crisis today
Posted by Jill Stein for President 2581.80pc on October 31, 2012 · Flag

In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein was handcuffed and arrested this morning after bringing food and supplies to a coalition of climate justice activists, known as the “Tar Sands Blockade,” who are attempting to stop the Keystone XL pipeline in Texas. She is currently at Wood County Jail awaiting processing.

“Everyone needs to step up resistance to climate-killing emissions,” said Stein, who was willing to risk arrest in order to show solidarity for this blockade. “Romney and Obama are only talking about the symptoms of climate change in terms of destruction caused by Hurricane Sandy; the blockaders are addressing the cause.”

Jill Stein was joined by seven others, including three blockaders and four members of the press. They were delivering fresh fruits and vegetables, canned proteins, trail mix, and Halloween candy. They were not warned of imminent arrests; and the arresting officers did not self-identify as police.

Prior to running for office, Jill Stein, a 62-year old physician and mother of two, had never been arrested.

"Climate change means more frequent severe storms that lead to massive flooding and destruction,” said Stein, speaking at the ongoing protests in Texas against the proposed Keystone XL natural gas project. “We will see more destructive storms than Sandy in the years to come. We have to stop spending our tax dollars to build homes in low-lying coastal areas and flood plains. The billions spent rebuilding the NYC subway system must reflect that sea levels will continue to rise.” Stein noted that the flooding of the NYC subway system had been predicted in several recent climate change reports prepared for the state government.

Stein has been the only national presidential candidate who has made dealing with climate change a major focus. She supports reducing the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere to below 350 ppm. The Green New Deal, the centerpiece of her campaign, includes investing hundreds of billions of dollars to transition to a carbon neutral economy, paid for through cuts to the military budget, elimination of subsidies for fossil fuels and nukes, and higher taxes on the wealthy and Wall Street.

"We can't just listen to climate change scientists for a few days after a disaster occurs, before politicians go back to business as usual. America has been both the major contributor to climate change and the major denier of the need for action. Obama and Romney's push to develop more domestic fossil fuels will accelerate our rush down the path of destruction while increasing the profits of the oil, coal and gas companies," added Cheri Honkala, the Green Vice-Presidential candidate.

The world already has five times as much oil, coal and gas available as climate scientists say the atmosphere can tolerate. So rather than drill for more fossil fuels, we must keep 80 percent of those reserves locked away safely underground to avoid a climate disaster.

While recognizing that climate change is already underway, Stein has laid out a number of major steps that should be taken to slow it down. Stein said that the government must also begin investing in how to mitigate its impacts.

"A major reason why our political and business leaders have failed to take action on climate change is because too many of them believe that it will be cheaper to deal with the consequences of climate change than to reduce it. The economic and human costs from Hurricane Sandy shows this to be the wrong calculation," said Stein.

A recent report commissioned by 20 nations found that 400,000 people are already being killed annually by climate change, while costing the world economy more than $1.2 trillion a year. (http://daraint.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/CVM2ndEd-FrontMatter.pdf)

"The world stopped getting warmer almost 16 years ago, according to new data released last week.

The figures, which have triggered debate among climate scientists, reveal that from the beginning of 1997 until August 2012, there was no discernible rise in aggregate global temperatures.

This means that the ‘plateau’ or ‘pause’ in global warming has now lasted for about the same time as the previous period when temperatures rose, 1980 to 1996. Before that, temperatures had been stable or declining for about 40 years."

When the world finally wakes up to the magnitude of this sham, will the assholes responsible for this shell game like Al Gore be tried and jailed as they should be?
