View Full Version : Pew Study: MSNBC far more biased than Fox News

According to the Pew Research Center, it seems viewers aren’t crazy thinking that Fox News is conservative while MSNBC is liberal. Of course, Fox News says they’re ‘fair and balanced’, but even their most loyal viewers fully admit that Fox News caters to conservatively-minded folks. MSNBC, on the other hand, seems to be under the belief that they’ve fooled the American people into thinking that they ‘fairly’ report the ‘facts’. Judging by the stats, MSNBC is nowhere even close to being an ethical news source.

Let’s look at the findings, shall we…

Fox News obviously delivers conservative talking points on the regular, given that the majority of their pundits, reporters, and analysts are in the tank for the conservative agenda. Just how bad is Fox News at ‘keeping it real’? Pew found that,

The ratio of negative to positive stories in Fox’s coverage of President Obama was 46 to 6.

…according to a recent Baltimore Sun editorial piece.

However, the Baltimore Sun also reports:

On MSNBC, the ratio of negative to positive stories on GOP candidate Mitt Romney was 71 to 3.

To which the writer, David Zurawik, adds,

That’s not a news channel. That’s a propaganda machine, and owner Comcast should probably change Phil Griffin’s title from president to high minister of information, or something equally befitting the work of a party propaganist hack in a totalitarian regime. You wonder how mainstream news organizations allow their reporters and corrdespondents to appear in such a cauldron of bias.

So, there you have it, folks. MSNBC is far more biased than Fox News, according to Pew. If you must talk to a liberal, and they say that their news sources aren’t biased, simply refer them to this study. You may either shut them up, or convince them to your way of thinking …it’s a win-win. link (http://www.ijreview.com/2012/11/21272-pew-study-msnbc-far-more-biased-than-fox-news/)

They both suck and should be considered entertainment and not a news source.

If you want to be informed read the news and cross check the information with several sources........it takes more effort but at least you won't sound like a BecKKK parrot or whoever the hell the liberal equivalent is.

Faux News, in my opinion, is far worse and more blatant in their bias but to say MSNBC isn't slated in their views would be naive.

It's safe to say that all of cable news are pretty shitty. The pre-election analyses coming from all networks were a prime example. I do sometimes enjoy a few evening shows on MSNBC, but even they played on the meme that the election was going to be close - ratings! I think if you read books/papers and comb through the bullshit abyss of the internet you can inform yourself much better than those shows. Fox news is good for tons of satirical material, however.

Daily? How in the hell would I know that?

Robert Gibbs and David Axelrod and Stephanie Cutter seemed to be semi-regulars during the campaign/election. Sen. Mark Warner I've seen several times. Hosts...Colmes, Beckel, Smith

How many hard NEWS programs does MSNBC have? I'll tell you...NONE. :gulp:

I don't watch MSNBC at all since it's the Obama cheerleading channel. I'll catch glimpses of Fox and CNN throughout the day. Network news is utter shit. CBS had a damning interview on Benghazi with Obama and chose not to air it before the election. That Figures.

Other than that, it's the 'Net for me and my news, from a variety of sources.

They both are biased. They are propaganda outlets. If you want real unbiased news, guess what, it doesn't exist in this country anymore.

You have two football teams. The Republicans and Democrats. Then you have the cheerleaders for each team. Fox and MSNBC are the cheerleaders. That's about what it is. Not much substance on either side. I would say Fox has the foxier T&A shaking the pom poms.

Maybe if MSNBC had some hot ass their ratings would be better.

Some would say that Pew is fairly biased since they tend to mostly ask Republicans questions about who they're voting for, then post the results as a poll...

At least a half dozen or so regularly. Here's a list .

Juan Williams
Alan Colmes
Kirsten Powers
Shepard Smith
Geraldo Rivera
Mara Liasson
Bill Schulz
Susan Estrich
Bob Beckel
Santita Jackson
Simon Rosenberg

I don't watch Fox much, but Sheppard Smith and Geraldo Rivera are hardly leftists. Juan Williams worked for PBS, but was fired for saying something incredibly stupid and Colmes was the resident "liberal", but he seemed to be something of Sean Hannity's powerbottom...

At least a half dozen or so regularly. Here's a list .

Juan Williams - not Liberal
Alan Colmes - Liberal, but a spineless coward
Kirsten Powers - Cute, but hopelessly deluded with DLC propaganda. NOT Liberal
Shepard Smith - Probably a Log Cabin Republican. I doubt a gay liberal could keep a job at FAUX.
Geraldo Rivera - Geraldo's politics are all over the map. He's probably some form of Libertarian, but not a Liberal
Mara Liasson - neocon shitbag. Just because she's on National Petroleum Radio doesn't make her a "Liberal"
Bill Schulz - who?
Susan Estrich - DLC DINO (and ugly as sin)
Bob Beckel - another spineless DLC'er
Santita Jackson - who?
Simon Rosenberg - former chairman of the DLC. Republican posing as "Democrat"
