Christ, I hated those Miami Vice bastards. They were always blocking off streets while filming as I was attempting to drive my delivery truck through in the early 1980s. I do miss all of that free cocaine, however, amongst other things...like a great portion of my memory from 1982 until 1998 or so.

Funny and interesting backstory: Around the time the series was being produced, I worked in the automotive aftermarket. Michael Mann, the guy in charge of the show, was provided with two Ferrari Testarossas for the second season of filming. The problem was, they were both painted black, and Mann had just about had his fill of trying to film a black car at night on Miami's dimly lit streets. So he sent both of them over to either Johnny & Mack By The Railroad Track or Earl Schieb (both being types of discount car painters) and had the cheapest $100 paint job thrown over them. If you look carefully, in some early episodes, you'll notice that the fucking doorjambs are still painted in the original black Ferrari finish!
