Davis did a "collaborative album" a few years back with the likes of Springsteen doing his best or most requested tunes. It was a good idea but the record was a steaming pile of shit. Much of it sounds like it was strewn together overnight (literally) with little in the way of quality production or thought. I think this Metallica horseshit originally appeared on the album and most likely that album was made to cover some of brother's Dave's medical expensives after suffering a stroke back in 2004. As usual, the fans really paid the price for it.

As much as it pains me to say this , I lost all faith in Metallica starting with the black album . I really tried to like that album and for the life of me I just couldn't do it . It's been a steep slippery slope ever since . Sad stuff . They were truly America's greatest thrash-metal band in the '80's . To this day nothing touches " Kill 'em All " , " Ride The Lightning " , " Master Of Puppets " , the original " Garage Days " E.P. , or " ... And Justice For All " All brilliant albums from start to finish .
