Instead of hacking up casters he probably could have used small lazy Susan swivels. Which is what I will use if I ever make one of those.

The book mechanism that releases the catch seems overly complicated. I think with a few beers I could come up with something simpler that still uses the book. Also, the pivot of the case eats up a lot of space. I would consider some kind of hidden hinge so I could fit in the maximum amount of beer and pron.

The opening mechanism is ok. Kind of cool. Slack might develop where it eventually might not open but aircraft controls are nothing but pulleys and cables and are very reliable. If it doesn't open he just needs to get ahold of the cable ends attached to the book and pull them harder. Pretty cool project. A good place to hide the valuables and contraband. Unless you knew it was there you would have no idea. I bet every kid wishes he had one in his room and his mom didn't know about it.
