The resemblance between President Obama and an actor who plays the devil on History's "The Bible" has drawn more than a little notice.

Conservative commentator Glenn Beck was among the first to take to Twitter to point out the resemblance between Obama and actor Mohamen Mehdi Ouzaani. A slew of tweets and news stories ensued, many from Obama supporters who weren't pleased.

History did not immediately respond to a request for comment from TheWrap.

In the miniseries, the actor resembles an older version of the U.S. president. "The Bible" has been a huge hit for History, drawing 13.1 million for its first episode and 10.8 million for its second. It is executive produced by "Survivor" creator Mark Burnett.

Last week, one of its executive producers, Scott Sassa, resigned as Hearst's entertainment and syndication president after what the New York Post described as a sexting scandal involving a stripper.

UPDATE 10:15 AM: History and The Bible executive producers, husband and wife Mark Burnett and Roma Downey, just addressed the Obama-Satan controversy. “History channel has the highest respect for President Obama,” the network said in a statement. “The series was produced with an international and diverse cast of respected actors. It’s unfortunate that anyone made this false connection. History’s The Bible is meant to enlighten people on its rich stories and deep history.”

Burnett and Downey used stronger language in dismissing the connection, suggesting that the actor playing the Devil may have been simply type cast. “This is utter nonsense,” they said. “The actor who played Satan, Mehdi Ouzaani, is a highly acclaimed Moroccan actor. He has previously played parts in several Biblical epics – including Satanic characters long before Barack Obama was elected as our President.” added Downey. “Both Mark and I have nothing but respect and love our President, who is a fellow Christian. False statements such as these are just designed as a foolish distraction to try and discredit the beauty of the story of The Bible.”

HBO fell hard on its sword after a Redditor made the Internet aware that the creators of “Game of Thrones” said a prop head used during the show’s first season finale resembled that of former president George W. Bush.

Apologies were made by the channel and by creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, who said they meant no disrespect when they made the comments on the DVD commentary.

After the kerfuffle, HBO pulled the episode from its streaming service HBO GO, as well as iTunes, and shipments of the first season DVD were stopped.

Now the episode is back online, offering a look at the new, not scandalous prop head.

There you have it. The head is now as nondescript as possible, resembling no one famous. Unless ... hey, do you think it sort of looks like Francine from the PBS cartoon “Arthur?”

Hell, since a lot of the Roman Emperors were known for fucking anything that moved, it wouldn't surprise me if Constantine batted from both sides of the plate himself.

And contrary to what the official Vatican doctrine says, he was the first actual Pope (not JC or Peter, or even Paul) because the Catholic church didn't really exist until old Connie used it to rebrand the Roman Empire, and pretty much swapped JC, His Mom, and all the apostles names for the previous Roman gods.
