Ethics panel investigates Michele Bachmann’s presidential campaign: Report

The Office of Congressional Ethics is investigating alleged "improprieties" in Michele Bachmann's campaign for the Republican presidential nomination in 2012, according to the Daily Beast's John Avlon.

From the Daily Beast report:

Federal investigators are now interviewing former Bachmann campaign staffers nationwide about alleged intentional campaign-finance violations. The investigators are working on behalf of the Office of Congressional Ethics, which probes reported improprieties by House members and their staffs and then can refer cases to the House Ethics Committee.

...

Former staffers tell The Daily Beast that investigators have allegedly asked about allegations of improper transfer of funds and under-the-table payments actions by Bachmann’s presidential campaign, specifically in relation to the campaign’s national political director, Guy Short, and Bachmann’s onetime Iowa campaign chairman, state Sen. Kent Sorenson. Questions directly about Bachmann, they said, have been primarily focused on what she knew about those men’s actions and when she knew it.

William McGinley, Bachmann’s campaign counsel, denied any allegation of misconduct.

“There are no allegations that the congresswoman engaged in any wrongdoing,” McGinley told the Daily Beast. “We are constructively engaged with the OCE and are confident that at the end of their review the OCE board will conclude that Congresswoman Bachmann did not do anything inappropriate.”

I think it's the zionist bankers screwing us over. The same bomb Iran fucks Glenn Beck is in love with.

Bachman is a joke. She is so ignorant she thought the battle of Lexington and Concord took place in New Hampshire. She didn't even know what fucking colony the revolutionary war started in. That right there makes her unfit for office. How can you serve a country that you know nothing about?

Dear friends, Glenn Beck’s mission, we cannot stress it enough, is to make true conservatives a laughing-stock, thereby undermining the moral and religious foundations upon which true conservativism is built. A Judaic “useful idiot” if ever there was one, Mr. Beck is to be considered extremely delusional in his self-adulation and exceedingly dangerous in the extent of his influence and of his disinformation.

This is from a more moderate conservative christian website. They actually believe Glenn Beck is a hired disinfo agent that is being used to make the conservative movement look nuts.

Beck is a Mormon and some of them have the same "We are the Chosen People" mindset some jews have. Basically the Mormons believe the jews blew their chance and they picked up the baton and are now the people in the last days who are going to save the world.

That translates to you have to be the better example. You have to show everyone else that by being Mormon, you live a prosperous life. Also, the other Mormons that think this way try to outdo each other and that just motivates everyone to push the envelope harder. You see that line of thinking in Mitt Romney. The guy is a workhorse and in his mind, he's the enlightened one on the mountain that is going to fix things.

Glenn Beck is a person who is full of guilt. He feels guilty he wasted his life on drugs and doing other bad things. He found mormonism in his desperation and he found a mormon girl who would put up with him. Maybe the strict lifestyle and a lot of pressure to stay off of drugs and alcohol saved his life. But now Beck has been saved and his fangs are dripping with wisdom and teaching (I had to borrow that from Dave. LOL!) Beck has had a vision and he's going to save us. He's going to save the country. He has to be better than FOX NEWS. He has to show us it's working.

Therefore let's get an expensive set and fill it full of expensive shit and have lots of cameras showing me from all sorts on angles.

Down in Provo, Utah they have a huge 4th of July fireworks show. I never could figure out how they could afford to do it. Well it turns out John Huntsman Sr. was buying all the fireworks out of his pocket. He's a multi-billionare and can afford it. Then who put on the fireworks show started charging admission to see the show. Then they started charging a lot and for parking and all that. It pissed off Mr. Huntsman to where he just stopped funding it. For years he bought those fireworks and stayed in the background never wanting any attention or credit.

When Huntsman stepped out Glenn Beck stepped in. Unlike Huntsman Beck wanted everyone to know he rode in on his white horse and saved the day. His image was on all the billboards and he opened the ceremony himself. They still charged the big prices. That never changed. I call Glenn Beck a Mormon kike.

I think it's entertainment for Ford to watch or listen to the crazy fringe of the right wing. Liberals are actually pretty boring. You do get a better freak show on the right. One reason FOX kicks MSNBC in the ratings is MSNBC is boring. There is no showbiz there. Over at FOX you have beautiful women and O'Riley is the king over there because the guy loses his temper. You just don't know when he is going to snap or what he is going to do. Most people who watch TV today are idiots. Television programming is at an 11 year old level. Who puts on the better show gets the ratings.

I think he really has ADD or maybe suffers from panic attacks. Usually people with real psychological issues find booze and alcohol help. That's why Duff from Guns and Roses drank so much. He suffered from panic attacks and never got the proper help and found booze helped take the edge off. People do substances for a reason and really to get them off the substances, you need to figure out the underlying problems. It can be unresolved abuse issues, depression, panic attacks or whatever. It's clear Glenn Beck has something wrong with him. He ran to drugs and alcohol and when he couldn't take that anymore he ran to religion. A strict one where you have to have at least one interview a year with the clergy about your lifestyle and lots of peer pressure to stay off the liquids and chemicals.

Maybe Beck needs to find a good shrink. I think that is his real problem.

LOL! That network tanked. Rachel Maddow and the Young Turks were on it. It failed because it was boring. Only the most die hard obsessed liberals listened to it. Rush Limbaugh has been successful over the years not so much for his political content. It's because he's dynamic. I remember my car was bing worked on. I never listened to AM in the early 90's. I borrowed a neighbors old Toyota and the radio was on Rush. In those days the guy was doing some crazy radio. He had these crazy jingles and he was all hyper and stuff. I pictured him as a big fat guy with grey hair and a beard with a few ketchup stains on his shirt smoking a cigarette. What got my attention was not the political content but the guy was doing some crazy radio and he was like an old school DJ. Rush isn't as good as he was in the old days. He's too political now. But if he sucked at radio, he would have failed in the ratings.

You have to put on a show to pull good ratings numbers. You have to entertain people. Sad but true.

Arnold Schwarzeneggar was a Republican and had zero political experience. He won the governors seat in liberal California. If he wasn't a big celebrity he wouldn't have a chance in hell. A celebrity, especially one who people think is cool will win the election every time regardless of their experience. People in our society put entertainment above everything else. They don't want substance or to be educated. They want to be entertained. That's why the powers that be want lot's of entertainment choices. While we are watching the basketball game or The Voice, they pick our pockets. It's why roman emperors provided bread and circuses. People were so distracted with that and felt good they were getting free food, the emperors could skim the rest of the treasury. It's like a casino. People will give you $500 but if they win $250 they are elated that they won. Mind games for the masses.

Nah, I can't listening to him for any length of time. These sample clips are all I hear of him.

Pretty much the case with all these right wing lunatics on the radio. I used to listen to Mush Limpdick back in the early 1990s. It wasn't entirely by choice... I was driving a delivery van to Aberdeen and back every afternoon, and it had a crappy AM radio that got only two stations. Country and right wing talk. So I got stuck with the one that didn't put me to sleep.

But back then, Mush was actually funny. Yeah, he was all about hating the Clintons, but it came off as comedy and entertainment, rather than the Oxycontin fueled rants that he is now.

And as far as Air America goes, it wasn't as much of a "failure" as you might think....

Al Franken is a Senator. Rachel Maddow is on a major TV Network. Thom Hartmann and Ring of Fire have their own TV shows. Mike Malloy is thinking about a TV show as well. Looking forward to that one.

The only thing that "failed" was the fact that radio station ownership in this country is controlled by right wing corporations, and they didn't drop affiliates because they failed, they dropped them because they succeeded. Willard Mittens Romney's Clear Channel took revenge on several affiliates after the last election, for example. And the other radio behemoths came up with the ridiculous "sports talk" format as an excuse to kill the rest of the progressive talk stations.

Jokes on them though.... AM radio is a dead format. So some of the founders of Air America came back with a 21st Century format.. You don't need an old radio, you just need an internet connection. Use your computer, use your tablet, use your smartphone, whatever....

Within the next few years, internet radio will be the standard in all the new cars. AM radio? Let the teabaggers have it!

Dude. Everyone is going to be on internet radio if they already aren't already. AM radio was dead in the late 80's. It was guys like Rush Limbaugh who brought people back to it. Progressives just don't pull big ratings. They never have. It's a niche.

Bullshit.

When Thom Hartmann was on in the mornings, directly up against Mush Limpdick, he beat the OxyMoron in the ratings in every market where they were both on the air.

Problem of course is that the number of those markets was limited. And that is entirely because of right wing corporate radio ownership.

Malloy owns his time slot too.... except nobody bothers to track night time ratings.

Bottom line - when it comes to radio, TV stations, or newspapers, they should be locally owned, and nobody should be able to own more than one in any given market.

My hell. All you progressives do is blame the right for every damn thing. Everyone has heard this same rhetoric for the past 40 years. Obama won office, Clinton won office, Carter won office. The congress has been mostly 50/50 but yet everything is the other half's fault. It's getting old and you guys offer no solutions. You guys are owned by the banks as well. Anyone who has a shot at winning office in the Democrat party is bought and paid for. Different rhetoric same shit. Go ahead and spew hot air on internet radio. It won't change a damn thing. In fact, it's sounding dated as hell.

I can remember when it was Barry Farber and Alan Colmes. Back in the roaring 90's when liberals and conservatives had their debates but both thought they were going to get rich quick in .com shares and flipping houses. The one common trait both liberals and conservatives have is they both are greedy. When they both get screwed by the banks they blame each other and while they are busy at that, the banks roll on another condom to fuck them up the ass some more. If another bailout won't be tolerated, we will do a bail in. We will just steal it from your accounts ala MF Global and Cypress. The liberals and conservatives will really be at each other's throats then. Blaming each other while the bankers kick back, laugh, and buy another yacht. The sale of luxury goods is at an all time high right now. Greed is good when the majority of the population are too stupid to figure it out. I can't figure it out. When their heads hurt they turn on the game or wonder if Kim Kardashian's butt got bigger.
