I like how she makes it look effortless. A lot of others, including myself, are so intense when trying to pull this off... bravo young lady!

Cracks me up the idiots that criticize her because she rushes the first half....

For Christ sakes, it's a KID.....

Really loved how she nailed the tapping.....

When you can't do something yourself, you get an internet persona, pretend that you can & bash everyone else for trying, all the while telling them how great you are.

Most people, however, have begun to recognize these people for what they are.

The internet has changed & is continuing to evolve. Pretty soon people will have to be NICE to each other, just like in "real life". Can you imagine? Preposterous.

That said, the kid RAWKS!

Cheers! :beers:

Gives me a little hope that the younger generations aren't completely brainwashed by all the talentless American Idol corporate bubblegum factory bullshit.

Let's hope she can find 3 more like minded kids and put a band together that can reintroduce rock n roll to their generation.

My girlfriend showed me this today. I think it's like the stuff Hendrix did. Easy now that somebody else blazed the way....

It's a safe bet most of those being critical couldn't play like that at 14, either... probably still can't.

I'd say perhaps it's somewhat easier to learn Eruption now (with plenty of tabbed sources available and youtubes showing the fret positions) than it was in the early 1980s, when so much of Ed's style was still being figured out solely by ear, but that doesn't negate the fact that you need a certain level of technical ability to play it.

I mean, I wouldn't put that girl down just because she's the umpteenth million person to play Eruption: christ, she's got a hell of a reach on her fretting hand.

Another one....

toward the end of this one she does a brief power chord on the first fret with her index and middle fingers rather than the index and ring fingers...what a great reach she has, and is already using her pinky finger nearly as much as her other three...

I'm not a gearhead as you know, but I think the simple fact that she barely looks down is impressive enough !!

Technically, if she sticks with it, she's gonna be a monster. Like, if she's just 14 now and keeps playing and practicing, I shudder to think of how good she'll be by the time she gets out of high school.

In terms of creative ability, time will tell.
