I think whether he believes in the shit he spouts or not is not really all the important. I suspect most evangelists start out with a belief but in time they move to the areas that make them the most money which on US TV is usually at the extremes, Jones is no different.

Who knows what he makes, he probably has set up some sort of foundation to hide the money away at this point, that's the usual modus operandi.

It's important when you are working out motivations.

If an actor whose work I enjoy comes on TV and tells me I should buy a Toyota it's important that I realize he is saying that because that generates extra income for him so I shouldn't take into account that he likes the car or that it is anything better than adequate without better data.

If Alex Jones has/does make his living from advertising income coming from companies who sell more when people are frightened of law and order breaking down then it's important to reflect on that when for the 14th year running he shouts that this is just about to happen.

I'm surprised you can't take a step back and see that.
