I'm sure they are fine for you but it's worth mentioning that the single piece of scientific research that it's based on was done by a guy called Dr Sergio Streitenberger, who is funded by Pomegreat PurePlus.

So basically the story is that a multi million dollar pomegranate juice and supplement supplier has found that pomegranates have absolutely amazing health benefits.

There is also a lot of recent scientific(or as Elvis would call it sorcery) evidence that antioxidants actually cause more cancers than they prevent.

Sesh isn't wrong saying most vitamin/mineral supplements are BS-95% aren't bioavailable to the body and contain toxic elements like magnesium sterate and binders and fillers that are not recognizable to the body and the body has to expend energy to remove them. There is though a serious micronutrient deficit in most of us that can only be dealt with with juicing or emulsifying fruits and vegetables. Most herb supplements have irradiated ingredients. There are very few good names out there. It's a difficult situation since the industry is not regulated or held to any standard and it's every company's responsibility to maximize profits.

Organic whole food supplements if you can trust the company would be the way there.

If you don't think juicing's not the fountain of youth, you haven't done the volume. It's huge, I wouldn't steer you wrong, and I'm surprised the effect is as profound as it is. Google the movie Fat sick and nearly Dead and check it out. I think it's still available online for free. Only thing is the prospect of doing it makes most people understandably disgusted, but you can make it so it is tasty.

I say McDonalds but they are far from the worst. I don't know if it happens in the US but most of them are putting calories on menus now and some of the Burger King stuff is extraordinary. 1200 calories for a single burger? WTF?

It's difficult when you are on the road when you are trying to find something to eat late at night. Mayo and salt are the problem.

I'm not so sure about the juicing thing. I used to drink a lot of fresh squeezed orange juice but it's full of sugar as are most smoothies.

When you get to our age you need to get a bit more careful or you will probably end up being a big fat person. I think the trick is finding a balance.

I spent some time recently in a studio with a 22 year old engineer and it is extraordinary the amount of shit he could put into himself without getting fat. You would start to try and explain why having two Chinese meals at lunch and then sitting around for the next 14 hours was maybe not great and something I couldn't do he looked at me like I was an elderly Richard Simmons. :)

I'm all for the information, there is nothing worse than the thing that you think is ok but turns out to be fucking terrible for you AND you don't even like that much.

For 4 years at work in the late 90s I used to go to a deli and get a big turkey baguette with mayo for lunch thinking I was being healthy because turkey is low fat so could have something less healthy for dinner. That thing was probably the same nutritionally as getting a pizza.

Subway are usually not too bad but a 12 inch Meatball sub has the same salt as 18 packets of chips(crisps).

But the meats are all high in sodium (yeah, even the roasted chicken breast) and none of the breads are truly whole grain. And the "tuna" is about a 50/50 mix of fish and mayonaise, so don't look to that as a healthy option (and that was before the question of Fuck-you-shima radiation entered the picture)

So while it's probably better than your standard deep fried fast food, it's not like buying a decent loaf of bread and some nitrate free meats and making your own sandwiches.

Subway are better than most fast foods but as you say there is a salt issue and some of the sauces are a bit dodgy. To be fair they are upfront and it's easy to see what you are getting. The golden rule is always avoid mayo and in the case of Subway avoid the meatball thing at all costs.

For those of us out doing shit in the real world day to day we often need to get food in strange cities and breakfast and lunch are always a problem especially in a train station or airport. Proper labeling is everything, everything in moderation and so on but the most annoying thing is accidentally eating something that looks healthy, tastes pretty shit and is less healthy than a pizza or whatever.

In those cases it's much better to eat the pizza... :)
