Governor Moonbeam, a.k.a. Jerry Brown vetoed a proposal to ban the sale of semi-automatic rifles with detachable magazines, Senate Bill 374. Why you might ask would Moonbeam put a stop to such a bill?
““I don’t believe that this bill’s blanket ban on semi-automatic rifles would reduce criminal activity or enhance public safety enough to warrant this infringement on gun owners’ rights,” Brown wrote.
It took a Governor from CA to look at the gun issue and actually use common sense to put a stop to an obvious knee jerk reaction bill. Of course, he was more than likely attempting to defuse a campaign issue that would have hampered his ability to get reelected or get him recalled (the people of the nice blue state of CO showed several members of the democratic party what happens when you get a little to happy with your gun grabbing laws).
