Originally, the plan was to make a sequel to Step Brothers, but somehow the financing was easier to secure for making a sequel to Anchorman.

Now, I liked Anchorman. I didn't think it was QUITE the 'instant classic' others did (mostly because I don't think Steve Carrell is all that and a bag of chips - he's not unfunny, but hardly everything he does is 'unqualified comic genius' as another put it), but it was funny. However, I liked Step Brothers much more than Anchorman.
