And BTW, crooked pork-purloining politicians are still trying to buy tanks that the U.S. Army actually DOESN'T want!! you know? Many of course are Republican teabaggers who want "smaller gov't" and less deficit? Assholes...

I think the current mess was everyone's fault. The current Democratic Party seems to be as fond of war, insider trading, and corporate fascism as the Republicans are.

SUPPLEMENTAL NUTRITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
(Data as of February 7, 2014)
Fiscal PARTICIPATION BENEFIT AVERAGE MONTHLY BENEFIT
Year Persons Households COSTS Per Person Per Household
ANNUAL SUMMARY
FY 2014 47,223,090 22,977,022 12,280,190,933 130.02 267.23
FY 2013 47,636,084 23,052,388 76,066,407,310 133.07 274.98
FY 2012 46,609,072 22,329,713 74,619,344,626 133.41 278.48
FY 2011 44,708,726 21,072,113 71,810,924,022 133.85 283.99

So 76 billion dollars for everybody on it for one year.

The cost of the three Marine Corps' B-models in the fifth order, which have a more complex engine to allow it to land like a helicopter, is estimated at $153 million per plane, down from $164 million a year ago, when the Pentagon bought 17 B-models, according to defense officials familiar with the estimates.

76 billion/153 mil = 497 jets. Course the jets are not figuring in the 1.3 trillion to keep them running...just MSRP off the lot. The 1.3 trillion dollar amount will keep the food stamp program going for well....you do the math....18 years?

So if we take off 497 jets off the 2,443 production jets = 1,946 jets left.

Enough to protect the homeland saving both 1,946 jets and 43 million americans (rotating....think you only get 3 years of food stamps max or something).

Which is the better deal?
