Did any of you married peeps use any Van Halen songs at your wedding dance? I think Feel Your Love Tonight would be a great choice!

I have never really felt that I would ever need to get married, since I don't want kids... but I think if I did get hitched (and didn't just do it in one of our lovely Vegas drive-thru 'chapels') it would be pretty funny to walk down the aisle to House of Pain or Where Have All the Good Times Gone if you and your spouse to be have a good sense of humor. :) As a serious choice though, maybe In a Simple Rhyme?

I was thinking Run like hell by Pink Floyd....lol

I don't think there was one damn VH/DLR song in my whole wedding or reception. I had the worst fucking DJ ever. He played very little that I liked even when provided with a long playlist. My best friend however did use HOT FOR TEACHER as his arrival song at his reception. (He married a teacher)

My parents used the full VH1 and 1984 album for their reception!

If I did get married, hearing a VH song would probably make me & the lil' woman want to fuck in the confessional DURING THE CEREMONY and turn the reception into a full on orgy! ^_^

Dance the Night Away would be a good choice

"Bring Me My Shotgun," by Lightnin' Hopkins or any Al Green.

"She's Lookin' Good"

"Lose The Dress(Keep The Shoes)"

I signed some kind of testament (you know, where you write down what the doctors have to do with you, if only machines keep you alive) and there are also lines how to you want your funeral to be run...

I chose "just a gigolo" for the moment they let down the coffin...now my familiy HAS to play it ... :D

If I'm ever lucky enough, at my wedding I would probably play in a simple rhyme, Angel Eyes, and most importantly, Hear About It Later.

I'll be married next year. We are heading to the Caribbean to get hitched. Part of the wedding favors will be a CD of all songs that my girl and I like, and songs that will remind all the guests about the week.

Here's how the conversation went:

(over the phone)
Her: What would you like on there?
Me: Van Halen

She searches the net, and tells me that she got a nice VH song. I get to her house, and we sit and go over the songs.

She plays, "When It's Love."

Me: I can't have that on the CD.
Her: Why not? I thought you wanted Van Halen...
Me: That's not Van Halen, that's Van Hagar and I will not have that on anything related to our wedding.
Her: Well, what's Van Halen?
Me: David Lee Roth.

She searches and find Just Like Paradise.

Her: How's this?
Me: Ehhh...I don't know.
Her: Well...that's Van Halen.
Me: No, that's David Lee Roth.
Her: Yeah...you just said David Lee Roth was Van Halen.
Me: He is, but that's not Van Halen...that's David Lee Roth.

*confused, squinting look from her*

Me: How about Coconut Grove *plays song*
Her: I like that. Is that Van Halen?
Me: No, that's David Lee Roth. (At this point, I was being vauge on purpose...)
Her: Isn't Van Halen David Lee Roth?
Me: Yes, and never forget that. (Then I walked out of the room...)

It was a classic, "Who's on first" type of deal...

So, Coconut Grove will be part of the wedding CD.

When my sister (and now brother in law) got married, they rode off in their limo while the PA blasted "Happy Trails"; I thought that was a cool touch.

And remember Franksters...
I was the one who asked the D.J. for it...
I was "on his case" to play the songs you guys "grew up" with and we danced the night away like maniacs!
(I have great pictures of that too).

Your wedding was fun and I will never forget it...

During our wedding ceremony, I had musiciens playing "patience" of G&R, "Edie (Ciao Baby)" of The Cult, "Every Breath you Take" by The Police, "Summertime Rolls" by Jane's Addiction, "Going to California" by Led Zep.
and it ended with "Heroes" of David Bowie...

During dinner/party, we chose the mildest/love songs from all of our favorite bands, my favorite (most romantic)
one being "Chemical Wedding" by Bruce Dickinson...

Of course, we also had some mellower artist's songs for the older, more conservative crowd.

The best day of my life!

SHOES!!!... one of my favorite subjects!

You guys have to give it to us, women...
We can wear sensible shoes for work or running errand etc... but when it comes to dressing up (like for a wedding), we "have to" wear nice little shoes, strappy sandals, high stilettos etc...

While all the guys can move comfortably, we keep our smile on, eaven if our feet are killing us dancing.

HHHhaaaa... I know, I am such a fashion victim, especially when I find myself putting band aids on my bleeding toes, the morning after!

Let's see:

1. Dance The Night Away
2. I'll Never Let You Go(that's by Steelheart)
3. Bed of Roses(ok, I know people hate Bon Jovi, but it fits!)
4. Fire Woman(Not really that much of a love song, but still)

Set aside of Journey, how about Dance the Night Away. I'd have to agree with you Mako.
