I haven't downloaded anything since probably, -Ought Seven- olden times back when as I was seeding and whatever that other term was I would also think are the FBI going to be at my door soon. I did a lot of this in the early turn of the century burning and burning.

You know leaving my computer unattended all night as it leeched from some IP and seeded to another IP we were all, so much family..it was as it was...

My CD purchasing has been minimal perhaps mostly, Shine Down, VH Tattoo and bands of that nature..

Here is my question FLAC was always my goto choice (Lou made me a believer) I can make choices these days MP3 FLAC ....."Apple Lossless"..< wtf is that...a couple other Formats . Now I can pay for FLAC as a option at a pay download site..used to be all top secret stuff.

I still have a FLAC Converter on my DVD collection of programs this program allowed me to take FLAC and convert it to MP3 etc...for use on players.

What are people doing these days as far as "format" to the end user ..me. FLAC was the best and then the hassle of the converter back in the day.

I guess I could read up on all this myself like I always have in the past but I thought a few around here could save me the hassle by schooling me on the best end user download format..legal or Huh Hmmm...

Any Help Welcome...

The last 2 DLR shows I seeded were ( and downloaded from Bit Torrent) were these two found my cd's in the ancient cabinet in my office.

DLR Wilmington 2005
DLR Camden NJ 2002

I believe they were downloaded FLAC then I converted them to VTS. Can't remember so many other hobbies have come and passed last 10 years/

The old sites that I used to torrent at are mostly gone with the advent of streaming and the new way music is presented in digital memory sticks and ipod type things... do people really have stuff archived at home on CDs and such anymore..?

I believe anyone under 30 these days has no use for anything other than a IPhone docking station at home and in their car with those flat ribbon speakers ugg sounds so shitty...digital bass boost done without the air pumping from a speaker freaks me out.

Am I old and set...or is my way the best and all this other shizznit just a tool to get people to buy a whole new set of tools to play music.

Cds still degrade less than memory sticks and phones go out the window every few years with all your saved stuff.... seems like music is getting tossed around like a unwanted dog.

Due to instant availability simplicity of modern media apps.

Exact Audio Copy can rip CD's either to WAV. or FLAC files. (Lossless audio)

To play back a FLAC file I highly recommend Foobar2000:

http://www.foobar2000.org/download

If you're trying to "crack" a DVD for copying then what you need is:

http://www.dvddecrypter.org.uk/

Decrypter only gives Video_TS/IFO/VOB/BUP files. So you'll need the software to play them. So you Google it.

It'll work on most DVD's unless you're trying to crack a Disney disc. Then you are fucked.
