Well, as far as I am concerned it doesn't matter what goes on around this site, at meet ups, shows or anything outside of this internet box gizmo, everyone is welcome when I'm buying a round.

I will toast one, in your honor.

Tickets locked in. I'm on my way. My first concert was David Lee Roth Skyscraper when I was in 9th grade. My son's will be Van Halen when he is in 9th grade. I'm taking my kid to see Van Halen with Roth. This is not a thing I would ever have imagined would happen in my life. How great is it? He's about as excited about it as he would be to go to the grocery store. I can't wait until it hits him. I can't wait until he feels it. The MIGHTY VAN HALEN is back.

I worked till 6:45 gotta work today too...word...."AGame" glad I found a reason to believe back in 78....got vid got pics may take me a couple days to sort it all out...MAGNIFIQUE!.

All the girls were wearing bedazzled jeans and all the glitter was all around their sugary assholes.....it was all a win win..

eating chow swallowing aspirin chugging water//oh and there were some fine scoots at the show....oh and word....Ed is a wonderful something that I cannot explain in simple word ?...... right the fuck on!

There was Jack Daniels. There was a fucking your girlfriend joke. There were roundhouse kicks. There were screams. Ed got scared by a bug on the stage.
Fuck Youtube vids. Fuck Tokyo Dome. It ain't the same when you're there. Dave sings like that because he's singing hard. He's bringing it. The only song it bothered me even a little on was DTNA.

After their horrible showing in KC in 2007, this made me feel like I finally saw Van Halen live.

That is why I never wear glasses at a outdoor concert, it's fucking brutal man... listening and digging the music and then boom, some asshole hits me in the head with a beach ball and then I cannot spot him because my glasses have just been lost in the dark of the beer soaked ground lol

Seems to be the same consensus by the reviewers at every show.

Pulling in less than 10,000 a night. Not good at all.

Yeah well it was the bands choice too play an out door tour. Aren't they all smaller ??? So they do something they want to have fun with and get savaged for it ?? Oh the age of the internet !! And fuck the critics !! Fan's ??? If you don't want to see your hero's at 60 stay the fuck home !! It's no secret Dave isn't the same guy from 07/08.

I wonder I these outdoor venues are half the cost or less to hold the event? They have to be. Way easier setup as well...small stage

cant think of any other reason why they would do this versus the usual arenas.

I think they wanted to play outside and have some fun. Then the critics go after them because they are playing smaller venue's ?? Big deal.

Some of these smaller venues sound better than the bigger ones. Yeah there seems to be plenty of tickets available but there still are good sized crowds and the band is playing great. I mean if you are a VH fan worth going. I might go to the Hollywood Bowl show.

A friend of mine saw VH in some outdoor venue in the Seattle area and he's like going holy shit the sound is great! It was one of those smaller outdoor venues that has the roof that goes out over the audience. He then saw RUSH at the Key Arena in Seattle (The old Supersonics arena) and he said the sound sucked. Not because their sound engineers suck but nobody ever sounds good there because it's a sports arena. These smaller venues are designed for music and you get better sound.

He says it was great and thanked me for taking him, but he just stood there stiff during the show. I nudged him and got him to pump his fist a couple of times during the Hey Hey Hey part of ATBL. So, I just have to take his word for it that he did have a good time.

Great clips. Dave's definitely pushing harder on this tour than the last one. That works both for and against him. DTNA is still a horror show. SOMEBODY has got to tell him about settling down with that damn song. He's gonna blow a gasket.

It is clearly a deliberate decision on his part.

How would you say it to him? In your own words Dave, if Beethoven came back no one wants to hear DA DA DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE AAARRRRRRRRRGH OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH DA DA

Like 'I'll Wait' the song is only in the set because it counts as a hit because the single was in the US top 20 100 years ago.

It wouldn't have been if he had used the current melody.

I have no idea where you're getting that idea that outdoor ampitheaters are generally smaller than indoor arenas....

Indoor they only hold on the average 15,000 or so, because they have to cut off about 1/4 of the arena where the stage is set up....

The vast majority of outdoor ampitheaters hold nearly 20,000, with 10,000 actual reserved seats and the other half in the lawn.....

I was 8th row in front of Ed. It wasn't the sweet spot for the sound. The vocal did not come through especially well. Maybe that made it better.

All I know is that in 2007 I saw VH with a Dave that sang pretty well, but hardly said a word to the audience. Not even a story before Ice Cream Man. And, Edward's playing was mediocre.

This time I saw a worse for wear singing Dave that told a story, anecdote, or joke between and during songs. The band was tight, and everyone looked like they were glad to be there.

I'll take the 2015 show all day long. These reviewers that want Dave to shut up and sing certainly don't go to see VH for the same reasons I do. I go for the banter. I go for the playing. I go for the parts that are unexpected. If I wanted perfect music and no banter, I have cd's for that.

While today's Dave, and especially 2012-2013, wouldn't make a great live album. It makes for one hell of a show. I was grinning bigger than..well..David Lee Roth. I don't know how it was from the lawn. I don't know how it was from the mixing booth. But, from down front it was the show of shows. I could not be much happier. I certainly would not have enjoyed Dave standing in one place, singing the songs, and not speaking except to introduce songs and the band. That's not VH. What I saw last night. That was VH. They're back, baby, and Roth, weak voice and all, plays a very large part in making it happen.

Intesting point about the lack of banter in '07/'08 vs the plenty of banter now. I too enjoy that stuff, but in its right place. Over the exit solo to DDL is not the right place, but the intro and middle of EWS is.

I'm still surprised they put out a live cd instead of a blu ray, Dave's performance is just as much visual as it is oral. I'd like to think Tokyo dome wouldn't be as bad if u could see them playing.
Bottom line is that this tour looks awesome and I can't wait for DC show.

Please tell me that the person who wrote that review (he's obviously Sammy Hagar himself) is making stuff up when he says people chant for Sammy. That cannot be true. Dude get a life and go watch the waboringitas if you don't prefer this current lineup. When Dave wasn't in the band I went to his solo shows it never even crossed my mind to go see a Hagar show.

Van Halen is currently doing shows in the heartland of the fat shadow, the domain of Sammy Hagar fans where he has infested the masses with dreams and love... I would not be shocked if some local hack does not give it a horrible review in St. Louis where Hagar basically seems to have a second house on stage lol

I've never had any problems with an objective yet negative review....

But when you mention Hagar not once but twice, not to mention terms like "shameless ham", this dude came to the show with an agenda....
