Hot Damn ! Gettin' my tix this Saturday morning ! Can't wait though I'm not a fan of the Hollywood Casino Ampitheatre aka Riotport to us local yocals . That's alright . I don't care if they play inside a shoebox , my ass is there baby ! Kenny Wayne Shepherd - Bonus !

Just got my =VH= tix . 2 seats at $ 80.50 apiece. Left -center reserved floor seats basically half way back . By the time I got my tix there were approx. 30 people ahead of me . Not too bad considering most people getting tickets were probably sitting in the comfort of their home via the phone and/or their PC .
While I was in the vicinity and had a little time and money to kill , I went to not one , not two , not even three , but four different places before I found the new Live CD . Check this out , Best Buy didn't have it , Wai-Mart didn't have it , K-Mart didn't have it ( little did I know they no longer sell CD's ! ) , finally , Target had it . Holy Cow ! Really ?!?
Anyway , Sunday Night , July 26th. I'm officialy there !

I know you cant get the shows vibe off a you tube video..but listen to that with headphones..Growth is wicked and then comes Al and Wolf with that " blow your pants leg back" intro followed by Eddie and that guitar run..awesomeness..Dave even sings it decently.

You are absolutely correct ! Minus the aches and pains of aging semi-gracefully this show turned out to be a massive throw down ! I'm fuming on about 2 hours of sleep and I'm about to die but I still have an afterglow from this show . I have seen some killer concerts in the last few months , Robin Trower last October , Fleetwood Mac in March , RUSH in May , Judas Priest & Saxon just last month , but this , THIS crushed those shows ! May God Himself bless Van Halen !
Oh , by the way , few have failed to mention this : Kenny Wayne Shepperd kicks all kinds of ass and is the nearly perfect and complimentary warm up to Van Halen .

It's tough seeing the pictures and video from St Louis... as that's closest the band will play to where I live, although still 300+ miles away. It's a nice venue and have seen many shows there!!

But... No regrets. That entertainment investment would have impacted college tuition and school shopping for 2 kids. No way I'd incur debt and pay interest on a Van Halen show even with 3-4 rarities and decent performances... Got to draw the line somewhere...

But as I stated... 300+ mile drive, 1 way. So, add 2+ tanks of gas, another $150. Hotel for a night another $150. Food/drink for 2 - 6 hour road trips and a night out another $100. We're edging in on $500 quick... You check the price tag on books just for a semester of college lately?

It was a very lively and appreciative audience ! Personally , I was hoarse before we left but on a monster =VH= afterglow the last few days !
Wasn't like the glorious daze of old with a lotta pushing and shoving , fistfights , firecrackers and frisbees, etc. but it was a genuinely appreciative audience .
Musically , the deep cuts got the hard core fans nookies off while the " hits " pleased your average daytime classic rock fans . A whole lotta everything for everybody .
