The usual.. Seats in the first 20 rows, soundcheck and some bullshit swag. Front row is $1000. Bring your wallet.

A thousand bucks to stand in the front row. What, they gonna get a time machine and go back and get 1981 Dave and have him singing? Cause that's the only way it would be worth a grand.

Well, adjusting for inflation, 13 bucks then is about $35 now.

What has really changed is promoters have created a monopoly on the big shows...so being able to sit on the lawn for $50 or $60 really isn't too bad considering.

It is outrageous though, but people will pay that amount so really just meeting the market demand.

Before the promoters caught up to the scalpers it was pretty hard to get decent tickets anymore anyway buying the day they went on sale...its always been crooked, at least starting in the mid-1980's

I disagree slightly. Paying 50 dollars and not even getting a chair to sit in is ridiculous

I saw them in their prime and I don't even think the tickets cost $15. I think I saw VH general admission for $8.50 in 1980 if I remember right. No frisking. No cameras. You smuggled in your half pint, joints passed around, some dude was lighting off fire crackers, the girls flashed their titties at Dave. The good old days.

I have my 1984 stub somewhere...I think it was 18.75...including Ticketmaster fees.

Yeah but I was making $8.50 an hour in high school. What kids make now isn't much more than that but what they have to pay has risen. A VH show was an hour and a half of work. Today a kid has to work longer to get that $35. Ha! ha! glad I was a teenager in the 80's. These kids now are being screwed raw. I could leave campus for lunch and do a burnout past the school in a real muscle car. As long as I made it back for the bell all was well. Kids now can't leave campus and a burnout might get you arrested. Oh and now they have to take all this Common Core shit. Ha! ha! how's the government cock taste kiddies?

Those shows sold out too. I remember driving past the venue to see if there was any signs of VH showing up. Some flat bed trailers with the lighting trusses on them are parked behind the venue. They're here!

These shows aren't for the kids. They are for old fucks like us who have salaries and shit.

The band has gotten older, but so have its fans. As the fans get older and richer, the prices go up. Supply and demand; it has little to do with the quality of today's show compared to 30 years ago.

I just checked ticketmaster to see what a youth oriented show sold for...for One Direction the "Steal my Girl" vip package was sold out...

from what I can see prices range from $44 for uppers to $250 excluding the Steal my girl vip...

So you are saying that a VH show is overpriced? Actual live music?

No, I'm saying that us old fucks complaining about ticket prices and trying to compare them to 1980-whatever is silly.

The fuckin' kids show you referenced doesn't disprove my point; those kids are just spending mommy and daddy's money anyhow. My old man never bought me concert tickets; today, parents are trying too hard to be their kid's friend.

It's just a different time. I've got more money than I did back then. If I think I'm gonna have $150 worth of a good time, then I'll go to the show (and I do).

Hi, I'm new here. I have 2 tickets for sale to the Tampa show, selling at face value $175 each but will consider nearest offer. I'm coming over from the UK. These tickets are to be collected at the Will Call box office on the day of the show, but through my livenation account, I can also transfer these tickets to someone else via an email transaction.

They are in section 7, Row K, Seats 17-18

Apologies if there is already a ticket sales thread that I may have missed.

Dan

By the way, welcome to the site.

Hi, thanks for having me :-)

I'm going to the show thankfully! However, as a surprise, my girlfriend bought tickets for the same show too, but the tickets she got for us are in section 2 :)

I'd rather get rid of the tickets I bought at face value or near enough what I paid for them. I'd rather someone else enjoyed this show too and I'm not wanting to make a profit on these.

As I'm coming from the UK, and these tickets are will call pick up, the only feasible way I can see this happening is to transfer the tickets to any potential buyer via livenation. Open to other suggestions of course :)
