Sir Christopher Lee, the screen legend whose career took him from Hammer horror to Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and a role as one of the great Bond villains, has died. He was 93.

The veteran actor died at 8.30am on Sunday at London’s Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, sources close to his family said.
He had been treated there for respiratory problems and heart failure over the preceding three weeks and turned 93 in hospital.

The man was very good at being an evil son of a bitch. And made metal albums in his 90s, for fucks sake.
His passing is definitely going to leave a hole in the universe. :(

I had the privilege of working with him and Robert Vaughn in a terrible 1976 Canadian film called "Starship Invasions".

While RV was a snooty senatorial wannabe, Christopher Lee would spend his off camera time chatting with the crew.

The only thing he wouldn't talk about were those "Hammer Films" as Dracula. He'd just played Scaramanga, so his star was on the rise.

Gracious gentleman. RIP Christopher Lee!

Man that guy used to scare me. With all those campy "B-Movie" Dracula Flicks. Only as I matured I realized what a great guy Chris was. His love of Tolkien will unite me and his whole career.

RIP good Sir.

I guess Dracula isn't immortal, then...
RIP, man.
I just hope you'll be remembered for your movies more than for your collaborations with those crappy untalented Heavy Metal bands.

Way back when I was a child this man dominated my Saturday night Creature Feature addiction . Always the perfect villain he excelled then ultimately mastered his craft . His role as Saruman was the cherry on the shake .
Thanx for spooking me out . Job well done sir .

I thought he was brilliant to almost the end. His Count Dooku was one of the things that I think prevented the last couple Star Wars from being complete shit...
