I couldn't have disagreed with her husband's politics more, but I credit Nancy Reagan for advocating for Alzheimer's after his death.....

(CNN)Former first lady Nancy Reagan, who joined her husband on a storybook journey from Hollywood to the White House, died Sunday.
She was 94.
Reagan died at her home in Los Angeles of congestive heart failure, according to her spokeswoman, Joanne Drake, of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.
"Mrs. Reagan will be buried at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California, next to her husband, Ronald Wilson Reagan, who died on June 5, 2004. Prior to the funeral service, there will be an opportunity for members of the public to pay their respects at the Library," Drake said in a statement.
The former first lady requested that contributions be made to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Foundation in lieu of flowers, the statement said.
Republican party leaders paid tribute Sunday.
"With the passing of Nancy Reagan, we say a final goodbye to the days of Ronald Reagan," wrote 2012 GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney on Facebook. "With charm, grace, and a passion for America, this couple reminded us of the greatness and the endurance of the American experiment. ... God and Ronnie have finally welcomed a choice soul home."
As first lady during Ronald Reagan's eight years in the White House, she was known as the "Just say no" spokeswoman of anti-drug campaigns, and as a fierce protector of her husband, both personally and politically. When Ronald Reagan was shot in a 1981 assassination attempt, Nancy Reagan never left the hospital where the president was treated until he was released, according to Nancy Reagan's press secretary, Sheila Tate.
After she and her husband left Washington, she became his protector again as he struggled with Alzheimer's disease until his death in 2004. After his death, she remained a staunch guardian of his image and legacy.
"She was always the one who kept the flame alive," CNN senior political analyst David Gergen, a former Reagan adviser, said Sunday.
Her official White House biography quotes her as saying, "My life really began when I married my husband."

Interesting that Bill Maher just mentioned her on his show Friday night when mentioning her advocacy of stem cells for Alzheimer's after Ronnie's death....

Love her or hate her, she was an icon...
Condolences to Ron Jr & Patty on the loss of their mother. I'll resist the temptation to say anything else which might be considered "in bad taste" at the moment. As far as I know, she was not a fan of the BCE, so that says something about her, apparently.

Is that what Wiki says about her, Niki Wiki?
Nancy Reagan was an abomination of everything that is white in America. She called upon astrology hacks to "foresee" Ronnie's day; she parading and built America's deplorable anti-drug campaign which led to America's War On Drugs which in turn has cost so many innocent lives on both side of law enforcement; she claimed to be an advocate for Alzheimers but only if the cure was for the rich.
Nancy Reagan was a watered-down Margret Thatcher only with more nuclear weapons shoved up her decrypted cunt. The sooner (American) history forgets her, the better.

This is getting weird... it was just a couple weeks ago that Maher made a reference to Fat Tony Scalia and his lock on the Supreme Court.... just hours before he died. :headlights:

Say it true, Nancy:
How is that election stealing piece of BCE shit James Baker still alive?? He has to be older than Nancy was? OK.. enough with Reagasm 2.0, M$Comcast... get off this shit and on to Bernie's victory in the Maine caucus.

Bernie's got about as much chance becoming president as Kanye West does.
Didn't you see that chart I posted yesterday? The Democratic winner of the Kansas caucus will be the Democratic nominee. 100% accuracy for the past 50 years. And same with the Kentucky caucus on the Republican side, which was Herr Rugenfuhrer.
And all the polls show Bernie kicking Trumps ass in the General. So get used to saying "President Sanders" :gulp:

So get used to saying "President Sanders"
If that's the case, then get used to saying "Allah Snack-bar! Death to infidels!"
And no more beer. Not even cheap ones. Certainly not the gay shit you drink.

I don't really know if Nancy Reagan HAD any strong convictions beyond that of protecting and promoting the interests and image of Ronald Reagan.
I've never even sensed a strong ideological core within Nancy Reagan that was formed before her marriage to Ronald Reagan, or was somehow separate from what Ronald Reagan believed. Put it this way: had Ronald Reagan not decided to become a Republican and ran as a Democrat, I could see Nancy Regan being fine with that.
She loved her husband and enjoyed a fairly lavish lifestyle. Those are the two traits that stand out most when I think of her. Whatever qualms I had about her were somewhat transformed to pity when Reagan surrendered to Alzheimer's and she had to sit by and watch him drift off into oblivion years before he actually died.
I'd agree among recent first ladies she was iconic in a way that Lady Bird Johnson, Pat Nixon, Rosalynn Carter and Laura Bush certainly weren't.

I'm with Kristy on this one. :)
Her defining thing was her stupid idiotic approach to drugs.
The only comfort is that for people worried about Trumph or some other lunatic becoming president, at the height of the cold war you had a movie actor with a mental illness being advised by his wife based on astrology and we survived so maybe we don't need to worry that much about the future...

Yes, but I do not claim to be from Cleveland.
So I'm still a much better person than you.

For someone who would have been under ten years old, you've got a pretty good recollection of Mrs. Reagan. Or else you got all that from wiki...

Why would they teach you about a first lady? That's not going to help you get a job, cunt.
Professional students are going to be the downfall of this country. You should be out earning a living and contributing to a community. Instead you're living like ghetto trash, driving a luxury car and renting. Section 8 wannabe.

And I would have been around 3 years old when Nancy went on her drug war campaign. More mature then you are now, dumbass.

I'm sorry, I thought you were talking about my stupid fucking brother. If you were I'd say add "protesting racial and economic injustice". By a kid who has worked exactly ONE year in his entire life. Goddamn Hippie...
