Piss me off. That asshole always on my case about gluten...

My doctor had me keep a food diary to try to figure out what foods have been causing my digestive issues.

Reviewing said diary shows that I have gotten sick after eating pizza, bread, and pasta. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.

I HATE having to say that bastard was right!

He also said it makes people gay. So you might not want to give it up just yet lol

I dunno if Elvis rallied against it, but I quit drinking Coke Zero and I rarely have headaches any more. Aspartame sucks!

Hmmm...

If non celeriac gluten allergies exist then they are very rare.

As far as aspartame goes it depends what you swapped it for I still think diet soda is better for you than regular if you are a heavy user. :)

Aspartame was known to be a neurotoxin BEFORE they put it on the market. Considering the patent was signed by Donald Rumsfeld of the BCE (then employed as CEO of Searle Pharmaceuticals, in between BCE administrations) it's not really all that shocking.

I'm not sure if ELVIS said that eating gluten makes you gay, but he did say that about eating chicken, soybeans, and drinking water out of plastic bottles (all of which have been theories promoted by Alex Jones and others in the right wing fringe media)

As for the rise in gluten intolerance in recent years, apparently the main problem isn't so much gluten itself as it is GMO pollution of the wheat supply.....

I found out the hard way I am allergic to most sugar substitutes. I accidentally put a package of the blue or pink stuff in some iced tea at Denny's. Within a couple minutes I had a migraine headache and felt extremely nauseous. If I eat sugar free candy or chew sugar free gum the same thing happens. Coke put out a variety a few years ago that had half the sugar of regular coke. It didn't taste like Diet Coke but it must of had some artificial sweetener in it because it made me sick too.

Switched to pure cane sugar Mexican Coke. And Henry's hard (alcoholic) orange and cherry cola sodas, sweetened with cane sugar.

There's a new Coke product available you might want to try out. It's called "Coke Life" and it has a green label.....

https://www.gianteagle.com/PageFiles/85802/14GE7107_cokeLifeLaunch-social.png

It's sweetened with a combination of cane sugar and Stevia. So no GMO MonSatan crap or artifical chemical sweeteners involved.

On the other hand, the fact that they DO have this product on the market, and yet continue to sell "regular" coke with the corn poison is completely ridiculous. Not to mention the whole range of artficial chemically sweetened diet products. I haven't kept up with diet drinks but I heard they were trying to phase out the aspartame neurotoxin, in favor of the newer "Splenda" stuff. Seems to have a mild laxative effect on me, so I avoid it.

As opposed to sorbitol which is the equivalent of a nuclear bomb to my bowels.... :squirts:

My thinking would be that the bigger danger is from type 2 diabetes.

The Coke life stuff would still have too many calories for me.

I say this as someone that drinks a hell of a lot of diet coke/pepsi as I use it as a mixer... :)

Tried the Life stuff. Didn't like it, seemed like there was an aftertaste. There's still five cans in the fridge.

I don't drink these all day long. I have one when I wake up. On work days, maybe a couple when I get home, unless I'm drinking beer. :D At work I only drink water.

My weekly recycling bin is more beer cans and bottles than soda cans.

Coke Life is definitely not a good solution for diabetics. But hopefully, it's a sign that Coca-Cola is taking stevia seriously and will have a pure stevia diet drink on the market before long. Pepsi is also reported to have a stevia diet drink in development.

I don't drink any fizzy sweet drinks on a daily basis anymore, so I don't feel too bad about the occasional MexiCoke or Dr. Pepper with sugar. If I was going to drink it daily I'd probably go with the Zevia product line (pure stevia flavored diet drinks)

Mexi Coke's a dollar a bottle at most of the groceries but closer to eighty cents per when buying a 24 pack at Sam's Club. Sam's also has a Fanta variety pack or a pack with Coke, Sprite, and orange Fanta. All sugar, all in old-school glass bottles.

Never seen any other flavors of Fanta around here other than the Orange. Ironic that Fanta is so popular among the brown people in Mexico considering it was more or less a Nazi invention (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fanta). But then, the Mexicans made the original VW Beetle longer than anybody else too, so apparently Hitler's favorite things aren't a big problem for them?

I don't really drink fizzy drinks tho I have had Fanta Lemon and it was pretty good.
I guess I drink them as mixers ..... On the odd occasion.

On the subject of what Angel was eating I started a low carb diet at the start of the summer , that's low carb not no carb.
So I worked out what I had one day and it was toast , sandwiches and toast. I was shocked how much white bread I ate. So that was what I concentrated on, ditching bread.
Any hoo, didn't lose as much weight as I wanted , summer =drinking. But feel a million dollars better and don't feel bloated all the time after food.
So no more bacon sandwiches.

IRT the pasta, I know that when I started taking Type 2 medicine about 5 years ago the doctors said that pasta was a no-no, and being Italian I said fuck that....

But I compromised...

Don't know if they have it in Canada, but I eat Dreamfields Pasta, which is very, very low in carbs, as well as plenty of dietary fiber, which should help you in digestion.... And it tastes good enough to eat regularly.....

Problem with the "healthier" pastas is they usually have more gluten, as there is literally more wheat in them. There are gluten-free pastas now, but those are usually made from corn or rice, so they wouldn't work for diabetics. God help anybody who has both diabetes AND gluten issues, because they would probably have to go full carnivore. And then drop dead of a heart attack.
