DURHAM, N.H. (The Borowitz Report (http://www.newyorker.com/humor/borowitz-report/gary-johnson-says-his-favorite-foreign-leader-is-obi-wan-kenobi))—Asked at a town-hall meeting on Wednesday to name his favorite foreign leader, the Libertarian Presidential candidate Gary Johnson seemed stumped at first before finally responding, “Obi-Wan Kenobi.”

The host of the town hall, MSNBC’s Chris Matthews, initially appeared taken aback by Johnson’s answer, but the former New Mexico governor went on to defend it vigorously.

“Obi-Wan Kenobi is a Jedi Master, Chris,” Johnson said. “More than anyone else, he taught me that the Force is already strong with me.”

“We’re on the same page about this, aren’t we, Bill?” he asked his running mate, the former Massachusetts Governor William Weld, who smiled weakly and shifted awkwardly in his chair.

As the town-hall audience murmured nervously, Matthews reframed the question for Johnson. “What I meant was, Governor, could you name your favorite world leader on this planet?” he asked.

Again, Johnson seemed perplexed, before eventually replying, “Frodo.”

The Libertarian Party announced on Thursday that Johnson would participate in no additional town halls.

Looks like he's wearing Jim Traficant's wig in that pic.

I don't understand why he is so shitty on foreign policy.

He can do a 2 hour podcast and sound quite reasonable, he seems to have a decent idea about how government works and domestic policies a lot of people would like. But if someone asks him something like 'What is the capital of France?' he falls to bits.

I guess the only defence you could give him in this case would be that there aren't any libertarian world leaders but he could have just said that.

In the real world if he was president he would have all the advisors telling him what the capital of France was before asking him to make a decision and I'm still sure he would be a better president than Trump. His wacky shit like abolishing state schools couldn't happen, Trump wacky shit like going to war over a tweet could.

I'm not going to vote for him just because he might be a Star Wars fan.

Are you it's not because you're poor? And poor people votes really have no say at all?

As I understand it if he and/or the Green candidate gets 5% then next time they get on the ballot automatically.

Maybe that wouldn't be such a bad thing.
