Well, this year just continues to suck right up until the very last minute, doesn't it. The way they reported her heart attack on Friday, and all the extremely vague reports since then, I suspected there wasn't going to be a good outcome to this story.

Rest in The Force, your highness. :(

First Han and now Leia.

She was on a diplomatic mission from Alderaan...

She's not dead...she is now part of the good side of the force!

And to 2016...ENOUGH ALREADY! Fuck you!

She was on a diplomatic mission from Alderaan...

She was on no "diplomatic mission". Her ship narrowly escaped after taking part in a terrorist attack which resulted in the loss of thousands of lives! It is time to end this romantic illusion that these so-called rebels are anything more than murderous savages whose only desire is to bring about anarchy and destroy the rule of law that allows so many star systems to thrive under the peace the Empire has brought to the galaxy!

Of course, the inevitable question here is how this will impact the movie franchise. Apparently she was already done filming all her parts for Episode VIII, so they should still be able to proceed with that one as planned. But depending on what Leia's role was supposed to be in Episode IX.... it's not like they can drop a CGI 1977 version of her into THAT movie.*

She'll become Richie Cunningham's brother, Chuck, from Happy Days...

Unless she wasn't going to be in Ep 9 anyways...

But yeah, they aren't going to be able to pull the CGI trick for that big a part.

I don't know...in two or three years they might be able to pull it off. But honestly, does anybody want to watch a digitally aged CGI 63 year old Leia?

Or Donna's little sister from the first season of That 70's Show.

I could(n't) care less about SW. I'd rather remember her in the Blues Bros:

As if this couldn't get any worse, now it seems that her mother, Debbie Reynolds had a stroke at home while planning Carrie's funeral. At least there were other family members there, and she got medical attention ASAP, but she's gotta be 90 something by now, so the family might end up with a double funeral :(

What a hit this family is taking. As reported by Todd Fisher, Debbie Reynolds said this morning "she missed her daughter and wanted to be with her."
“She left very shortly after that, and those were the last words she spoke,” Todd Fisher said.
