Here's an indisputable fact. President Harry Truman designed a health care system in 1947. It was blocked by the "do nothing Republican congress" (as the President himself named them).

Would Truman's plan have worked?

Ask Germany & Japan. They're using it. To this day. It was part of the post-war rebuilding plan which put both of the former WWII enemies back on their feet, and obviously was a great success.

So you can claim that "sociologists and members of the US congress were never fit to serve healthcare". But neither were insurance agents. And definitely not insurance CEOs, skimming 35% off the top to build themselves mansions.

if the federal government fail to make their payments, the insurers will raise premiums or exit the obamacare exchanges.

there isn't an insurance system that is a zero sum company. they either make profit or the company ceases to exist.

and the reality is: even with the subsidy the cost will go up. and insurers will leave the exchanges anyway.

with that said, and this is the really big one same as back in '47, there is a huge gap in the number of healthcare professionals.

If your objection to Obamacare is somehow related to employers paying a higher cost, then you should be at the front of the line DEMANDING a single payer system.

Why do Mercedes-Benz and Toyota not have the same sort of financial problems that Ford & GM have had?

BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE TO PAY FOR THEIR EMPLOYEES FUCKING HEALTH CARE.

And that's the big businesses. Small businesses would benefit even more, if they didn't have to worry about health care. More to the point, there would BE more small businesses, because people wouldn't be stuck in a corporate job they hated, just to keep their health care plan, and might very well want to start a business of their own.

So in other words a move to a single payer, Medicare for all system in the US would be the single biggest boost to the US economy since FDR shuffled off this mortal coil. And any true conservative would see the immense value in that.
