On Thursday, fascist wannabe master bernie (I-VT) is signing on as a cosponsor of the Marijuana Justice Act, introduced last year by Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ).

The Marijuana Justice Act, if passed, would not only remove marijuana from the Controlled Substances Act so that states could legalize without federal interference, but would also withhold funding from states that maintain criminalization and continue racially disproportionate arrest and incarceration rates for cannabis.

The legislation would also direct federal courts to expunge prior marijuana convictions and would allow people punished under disproportionately enforced cannabis laws to file civil lawsuits against those states.

Now. while I'm all for decriminalization to punish those who fail to do so is not the way to go about this. It will only backfire. Bad idea.

Elizabeth Warren could win easily in 2020, if she wanted the job. But she doesn't. I guess she's realized that when you only have 3 or 4 senators who are worth a shit, and one of them is in his mid 70s, you probably should stay there and be more effective. I can't argue with that, but if human cloning were possible, she could run for President & stay in the Senate, and the country would be better off for it.

Warren is 68. So that makes her younger than Bernie, Hillary, Biden, Feinstein, and McCain (the last time he ran for the office)

Look at it this way... we have had three guys in their 40s elected in the last few decades. JFK was assassinated before he could finish his first term. Clinton damaged the Democratic Party, enabled the creation of FAUX Noize, Clear Channel, and the monopoly monster version of Comcast, and then deregulated Wall Street. And Obama was so harassed by the right wing bigots that he couldn't get anything accomplished other than passing THEIR health insurance plan (and they even hate him for that)

So it's not like the young guys are really hitting FDR style home runs in office either. And none of the younger women senators currently being pushed by the party establishment are worth a shit. They might not be as painful to listen to as Hillary, but their policies would be just as bad.

I'm beginning to think the guy who lives a few blocks down the road from me, Jay Inslee is trying to make a run for it. He's 67, but he's got the face of a 15 year old, so people might think he's younger. Sadly, he's another Clinton type, but at least then I could say I actually met a President in person.

I would be game for that. Get the smart young people in. The problem with congress is they stay in office too long and now it's a nursing home of do nothings out of touch with the real world. Add in some term limits to keep the new batch from becoming the old batch and we might have something. The states would have to have a constitutional convention to get the term limits because them bastards are not going to vote themselves out of office.

We literally have people serving in office who's minds are going due to old age. Pelosi reminds me of my grandmother when dementia was setting in. McCain's mind is gone. Maybe we should have an age limit on the top end like they do for commercial pilots. Over 65 sorry you are too old to fly a plane with passengers. That rule exists for safety reasons.
