Hundreds of voters were stuck in line at one Georgia precinct on Tuesday after election officials failed to provide power cords for the voting machines.
One man explained the situation as he captured video of what appeared to be mostly African-American voters stuck in a long line.
“Election day started an hour ago in my neighborhood and we don’t have cords to plug in the voting machines,” the man said. “We all knew that voting was today and only in my neighborhood people are waiting an hour after the polls open to vote. And [election officials] are saying that we don’t have power cords.”
“The building is full of power, no power cords,” the man noted. “All of these dedicated people waiting to vote. This is what we call voter suppression. This is what we go through to vote.”
The Atlanta Journal Constitution confirmed that the Helene S. Mills precinct in Old Fourth Ward had a “power cord issue.”
Fulton County spokesperson April Majors later insisted that the problem had been resolved.
“It’s up and operating now,” Majors remarked. “Patience is key.”
Gwinnett County Director of Communications Joe Sorenson also told NBC News that officials had identified a problem with power cords in one precinct.
“The machine was not supplied power and was running on battery & the battery ran out,” Sorenson said.
NBC News has confirmed that the issue at Anderson Livsey Elementary in Snellville, GA was indeed a lack of power cords. The Republicans are winning the Senate in the worst election map for Demcrats since the Civil War. But the Dems are going to crush the House. They have 199 vs. 178 for Repubs right now...
The Senators who lost tonight were idiotic corporatist DINOs who vote with Repukes on most of the important issues, so it's not like their replacements will be voting any different.
On the other hand, it will be interesting to see whether the House Democrats grow a collective set of balls and appoint all the leadership positions directly from the Progressive Caucus. If they want to hold on to their majority past 2020, they damn well better do that. :gulp:

Nothing is going to change. We will have stalemate and a freak show for two years. Most politicians are bought and owned. Today politicians are above the law. Look at what Hillary has gotten away with. Not just her but many others. Until crooks in political office go to jail for their crimes nothing changes. Since the Democrats hold the house there is something they need to look into. Government agencies getting direct funding from the Federal Reserve bank. Some of these agencies no longer get their money appropriated by the house but they get it straight from the Fed. All sorts of crazy stuff going on and nobody does anything about it. We have an agency government where the agencies answer to nobody. The US congress today is pretty much a joke of paid off shills who look the other way. They only seem motivated to slag their political competition but this is just a bunch of vultures fighting over a carcass.

We're at the point where I honestly had to check if that was a real tweet or not.
Wisconsin is ground zero with Koch corruption. It was a reliable Democratic state not long ago. Hell, even the football team there is public owned! (Green Bay Packers). It's great that they finally get rid of Snotty Walker, but unfortunately, another dumbass jock with a face like a 12 year old will be replacing the "retiring" Eddie Munster Ryan instead of the "iron mustache" Randy Bryce, who supposedly had a huge lead in the last polls I saw.
As far as the gerrymandering goes, Wisconsin is probably not as bad as some. The shapes of the districts make sense for the most part at least. Though if you look closely at the map, there are a few areas where the borders between districts get a little squiggly.....

Not surprisingly, some of those squiggly lines are in Waukesha county, where a rabid Kochwhore county official named Kathy Nicklaus has habitually manipulated elections for years now.
Things went better in the Kochs' other favorite state, Kansas. Apparently, even the rabid right wingers in Tornado Alley didn't want noted election stealer & overall racist douchebag Kristopher K. Kobach as their governor. First time they have elected a Democrat in decades, no doubt.

What they could do is work with the Republicans on some legislation that would appeal to the Democrat base. They won't do that. They will make the same mistake the Republicans did with Bill Clinton. They will get a house majority impeachment and harass members of Trump's family and staff with indictments and waive that around before the 2020 election. The Republicans waived around Bill Clinton's impeachment and the Republican voting base was pissed because time was wasted on that bullshit instead of real issues that matter. So with the current Dems in charge winning back the house is just going to give them enough rope to hang themselves with. Meanwhile we will have two years of stalemate with nothing being done. I'm not optimistic that the current Democratic leadership will use the House victory to their advantage. There's a great opportunity within their reach to use that majority in the House to drive 2 key issues that would improve the nation overall and gain widespread support heading into 2020... Infrastructure and Health Care.
Both top the list of important issues among voters... there's plenty of room for moderate factions in both parties to come together and the needs of the nation are impossible to ignore. It wouldn't be that difficult to gain traction with this... all that is needed is focus, a commitment to act civilly and motivation to get things done. Three components that most Americans, no matter what party, deeply desire from Washington.
