Sen. Cory Booker launches 2020 presidential bid

U.S. Sen. Cory Booker on Friday declared his bid for the presidency in 2020 with a sweeping call to unite a deeply polarized nation around a “common purpose.”

The New Jersey Democrat, who is the second black candidate in a primary field that’s already historically diverse, delivered his message of unity amid an era marked by bitter political division.

“I believe that we can build a country where no one is forgotten, no one is left behind; where parents can put food on the table; where there are good-paying jobs with good benefits in every neighborhood; where our criminal justice system keeps us safe, instead of shuffling more children into cages and coffins; where we see the faces of our leaders on television and feel pride, not shame,” Booker said in the video, subtly jabbing at President Donald Trump.

There are a lot of reasons NOT to vote for Borey Crooker, but I'm not aware of him being a "sexual predator". Care to elaborate?

In 1992, Cory Booker wrote of ‘groping’ a high school friend as they ‘fumbled upon a bed’ and issued a call for sexual respect

When he was in high school, Cory Booker, the New Jersey Democrat and possible White House contender, groped his classmate as they kissed. He reached for her breast, and when she swatted his hand away, he made another attempt.

The incident resurfaced this week as Booker joined calls for an FBI investigation into the allegation of high-school-era sexual assault leveled by Christine Blasey Ford against Brett Kavanaugh, President Trump’s nominee to the Supreme Court.

But the skeleton in Booker’s closet seized on by outlets such as Fox News and the Daily Caller wasn’t really in his closet. The senator himself chose years ago to air the issue, marking a notable contrast with instances in which accusations of impropriety burst forth as a result of media investigation or opposition research.

In 1992, Booker, then a student at Stanford University, wrote a column for his college newspaper in which he recounted the groping and used his own behavior to underscore, in starkly personal terms, how his views had shifted on gender and sexual respect. He credited his work as a peer counselor with the transformation.

Here again something I could give a shit about. But when you're dumb fuck politician elected because of your race by people of your race and only because of your race and you call out somebody else for the same shit you had to apologize for, then I might bring it up. Otherwise he was a worthless mayor, dead bodies floating in the river down there New Jersey, and he's more worried about his image than he is about the United States.

I got no use for this guy...

I'm no defender of Borey Crooker, but being a drunk horny teenager once upon a time really isn't that big of a deal. It certainly doesn't approach the level of the gang rape stuff that Rapey Brett Kavanaugh was involved with. "Sexual predator" is a pretty big stretch for what Booker confessed to doing. I don't have any intentions of running for office anytime soon, but if I ever did, the last thing I'd want to talk about is being a horny teenager a long time ago.

Booker is a pretender and a poser.

Newark, admittedly a dump before Booker was elected, didn't improve under his tenure in any lasting, meaningful way. Booker's Senate career has produced nothing of distinction.

Booker DOES enjoy giving histrionically-laden speeches. Beyond that, I'm at a loss.

As a registered independent who has voted for democrats 100% of the time, I can say without hesitation that Booker shouldn't be the Democratic candidate for President in 2020. Just like Gillibrand, Booker is a living example of the "fake it until you make it" ethos: eventually, purveyors of that 'skillset' run into real time troubles they can't bullshit their way out of. We don't need that type of person in the Oval Office.

Newark - where the illiterates have a say. It's just never a write-in candidate.

And don't jump me for one illiterate joke. I know some people have issues. So when life gives you melons...
