Check out www.vhnd.com and read the set list for
Spammy Haggis's fall release "The Essential Red Collection".
If spammy's sheep think that solo collection beats anything
from Dave's solo years, then they really are full of shit.

Look for such rock chart topping songs like the
tune from Fast Times at Ridgemont High.... wow!

Anyone else care to comment?

Eddie sure was impressed. Set off a major fire storm in the VH camp, I hear from a friend who knows people in VH's Tour crew management. Exact comment was, "Tour sure has a long way to go for everyone to start getting so nasty. I hope a week off will help (July 12-17)"

I like Hagar's Essentially Red concept - Like this VH tour Essentially flowing major Red ink.

Sammy's new greatest kill''s Daves.

Look at the track listing compared to Daves. It's not even close!!Here's proof why Sam's is better.outside of the obvious:

1,)Songs on Sammy's new greatest still get major play on classic radio,
none of Roth's "greatest" ever get any play?Nobody plays Yankee
Rose,Big Train,Don't Piss me off(are you kidding!!)

2.)Dave knows his shit was whack because he never plays anything
from his solo shit in concert except:"Y.R.,T.R" that's it!!
Sam still plays his classics...........Does Dave have any?

3.)No cover tunes on Sam's shit!!!Story of Dave's career!!

KID VEGAS.......................God Bless!!

I think I've heard "Can't Drive 55" once in my life on the radio. Other than that, the only Spam songs I ever heard on the radio were ones like "Little White Lies" and "Más Tequila" that got a semi-decent amount of airplay only because they were current. In the last 5 years I haven't heard those songs or any other Sammy songs on the radio. And in an honest, unbiased opinion it seems to me that less and less Van Hagar gets played over the years. I remember 5 years ago hearing more from FUCK like Runaround and Top of the World. I even remember hearing "Can't Stop Cheesing You" 5 years ago. Not anymore. Other than Van Hagar songs they played last month to pump up this dreadful tour, there are exactly THREE Van Hagar songs that get consistent radio airplay around here:

When It's Love
Why Can't This Be Love
Right Now

And that's it. No other Van Hagar, no Sam solo. No Dave solo. Anytime they say "Van Halen is coming up next" there's about a 98% chance it'll be Roth, the only incarnation of the band that mattered.

But that wasn't what this is about is it?it's about Roth's greatest compared to Sam's!!

Red,I can't drive 55,Heavy Metal(c'mon great tune you know it!),your love is driving me crazy!!,they all still get play on classic rock!!

None of Roth's solo shit gets any play!!!!

KID VEGAS...................GOD BLESS!!

Ok you're clowning Dave because his solo stuff doesnt get much airplay...........I almost never hear Van Hagar here on the rock radio stations. Classic VH has all six albums represented round the clock. So by your rationale that means Van Halen blows away Van Hagar?! Fucking douche.

THE ONE THAT YOU LOVE

Now the night has gone
Now the night has gone away...
Doesn’t seem that long
We hardly had two words to say...
Hold me in your arms
For just another day
I promise this one will go slow
Oh...
We have the right to know
We have the right to know

Don’t say the mornings come
Don’t say the mornings come so soon...
Must we end this way
When so much here is hard to lose...
Love is everywhere
I know it is
Such moments as this
Are too few
Oh...
It’s all up to you
It’s all up to you...
Here I am
The one that you love
Askin’ for another day
Understand the one that you love
Loves you in so many ways

Ah...
Tell me we can stay
Tell me we can stay oh please...
They are the words to say
The only words I can believe...
Hold me in your arms
For just another day
I promise this one will go slow
Oh...
We have the right you know
We have the right you know

Here I am
The one that you love
Askin’ for another day
Understand the one that you love
Loves you in so many ways
Here I am
The one that you love
Askin’ for another day
Understand the one that you love
Loves you in so many ways
The night has gone
A part of yesterday

I don’t know what to say...
I don’t know what to say...
Here I am
The one that you love
Askin’ for another day
Understand
The one that you love
Loves you in so many ways...
Here I am
The one that you love
Askin’ for another day
Understand the one that you love
Loves you in so many ways
Here I am
The one that you love
Askin’ for another day
Understand the one that you love
Loves you in so many ways.........

When its love.

Everybody’s lookin’ for somethin’
Somethin’ to fill in the holes
We think a lot but don’t talk much about it
‘Til things get out of control
How do I know when it’s love
I can’t tell you but it lasts forever
How does feel when it’s love
It’s just something you feel together
When it’s love
You look at every face in a crowd
some shine and some keep you guessin’
Waiting for someone to come into focus
Teach you your final love lesson
Hod I know when it’s love
I can’t tell you but it lasts forever
How does feel when it’s love
It’s just something you feel together
(Solo)
Oh oh oh oh
Oh when it’s love
Oh oh oh oh
You can feel it yeah
Oh oh oh oh
Nothing’s missing
Yeah
(Solo)
Oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh
Nothing’s missing
How do I know when it’s love
I can’t tell you but it lasts forever
How does it feel when it’s love
It’s just something you feel together
How do I know when it’s love
I can’t tell you but it lasts forever
When it’s love
When it’s love
It’ll lasts forever
When it’s love
You and I
We’re gonna feel this thing together
When it’s love
When it’s love, baby
You can feel it, yeah
We’ll make it last forever
When it’s love.

I'm looking forward to listening to The Essential Red Collection by Sammy just as much as Best Of Both Worlds from Van Halen even though both are just greatest hits compilations even though they are for younger fans mostly but I think this greatest hits compilation is Sammy's way of having an option to continue as a solo artist if things do NOT workout with Eddie again after this VH reunion tour!!!

I dont think it was designed to "work out". this is the goodbye tour for sam, pure and simple. he has said hes going back to the wabos as soon as this tour is done.

...and then hopefully, we'll get a real reunion.

Can't forget this lyrical masterpiece of finely aged cheddar....

Trans AM (Highway Wonderland)

She's American made, you know what I mean?
Red on black, she's a street machine.
Set's ten inches off the ground with a custom plate
That says I-E-A-T Z28
Trans Am
Trans Am
Trans Am
Highway Wonderland.
Yeah, '79 will be the end of the road.
If you want horse power overload.
Ooh, if you like kicks, just take her to the floor
And you red-line shift them gears feel the engine roar on my
Trans Am
Come on catch me if you can
In my Trans Am, Highway Wonderland.
Trans Am
Trans Am
Trans Am
Highway Wonderland.
And she shines on the street.
And she shines at the heat.
And she shines in my baby's eyes.
And she shines on every other guy's
Trans Am
Trans Am
Trans Am
Highway Wonderland.
-solo-
T-R-A-N-S A-M
Trans Am!
-2nd solo-
>From Daytona Beach down to Riverside
If there's a race, she's qualified.
My six point six gets a little too heavy
For a "Big Balls" Ford or a 350 Chevy
Trans Am
Come on, catch me if you can in my
Trans Am, Highway Wonderland
Trans Am
Trans Am
Me and my Trans Am
Come on, catch me if you can in my
Trans Am, ooh, Highway Wonderland.
Yeah!
Highway Wonderland!!! Yeah!

I've heard Dave solo on the air plenty of times over the years: California Girls, Just a Gigolo, Yankee Rose, Slam Dunk (when it was current).

Out here, Classic VH gets way more airplay than Van Hagar and Spammy combine. In fact I can't drive 55 is played more than any Van Hagar song.

Whoever said Dave doesn't do his solo stuff live anymore.....huh?

He did Yankee Rose, California Girls, Just Like Paradise, Tobacco Road, Just A Gigolo, Goin' Crazy, 2 from the newest disc, as well as a bunch of classic VH when I saw him last summer.

I've never said Roth's solo stuff gets airplay on classic rock stations...just his stuff with VH...which puts him ahead of Hagar on all counts...

because these songs NEVER get played...that you listed...

I Can't Drive 55 gets played...if you're lucky...during a NASCAR event...

Heavy Metal...a good tune? Yeah...if you like overrated cartoons...

and Your Love is Driving Me Crazy is a Rick Springfield tune gone bad...

Not buyin' that shit...

face facts...as bad as you think Roth's solo career...is at least the equivalent as Hagar's...don't overplay a solo career that gets attentioned now based soley on the fact that he's been with VH...

I like Dave's solo material...but I'm not going to sit here and overblow it to prove a point...

Hagar's solo career...and material...are inconsequential...

quit trying to pump up a career that would be long gone if it weren't for the name...

Van Halen...

I'll give Poodle Head some credit, I actually like some of his solo work. But there's no way in hell I'd spend a dime on his music or overpriced booze.

I may, MAY, download this and check it out. But that's it. I can see keeping one or two tracks and throwing them on a mix CD. :)
